Kinda funny how a budgie got hormonal over a cockatiel 😂 my budgies (a male and female) used to be super hormonal with each other and mated (thankfully no eggs! 😅) but once I got them off of seeds the female hasn’t had any hormonal behavior at all! The male still seems to get a little chattier and tries to regurgitate for her occasionally, but it has never effected my relationship with them.

Rehoming is sometimes so demonized when it's sometimes best for all. In this situation it turned out wonderful for all involved. It is wonderful that you do what you do for your project birds to give them a better chance at a forever home.

Giving away the other bird is always an option - I wouldn’t take on another bird at the detriment of my own flock. It just isn’t fair and Berry’s quality of life would go down under those permanent circumstances and it’s really unfair to her so I’d accept that my home wasn’t an ideal one for the new bird because of that and seek a rehome.

Olivia doesn’t tolerate Berry’s actions so Berry doesn’t get away with anything with Olivia. I wouldn’t call them friends but I wouldn’t call them enemies either.

How would you deal with her IF Clyde wasn't a project bird & a bird that you've committed/ adopted/ are its home? When all the things you've mentioned failed, then what? And when giving away the other bird isn't an option?
