This will be a long project to create - I will be MAKING and PHOTOGRAPHING all the recipes going into this book as well as designing the book all over again with these new recipes to share. Plus, filming with Patty about each and every recipe submission we receive going into this book! I think it will be a fun and educational one, though. Really looking forward to this!

Welp than, I am vegan so personally I am up for a good rich salad with so many ingredients, but this is more like the SFS and I don’t think nobody has the motivation for a hour and a half of salad making for their lunch hahahah, hopefully it’ll be just read worthy, because I am very proud of this chop and it is all thanks to Patty and you, your amazing cook book and nutritional information, very valuable, and this experiment gave me a great perspective of how much thought and creativity it takes to make truly wholesome recipes, really did opened my mind to this new language of food and diet. It was a smart person project, I had great time!

We are pretty open to most recipes as long as they have the concept of sharing it with your bird, so something you would also eat!

Laura, I was exactly like you for an entire year. Watching videos and thinking I would do that if I had a bird! I have two cockatiels now and have volunteered as a foster at two rescues. Take the plunge and get a rescued bird! If you're watching Birdtricks you're obviously desiring one and a bird is needing you!

Some people just don’t replace eggs, eliminating it completely from recipes that don’t require it. You can actually substitute egg with many things that are bird safe, as fancy as flaxseed/chia-gell and aquafaba (the liquid remaining from canned/cooked chickpeas), to mundane ingredients like applesauce, cooked mashed sweet-potatoes/pumpkin, mashed bananas and nut-butters.

I submitted my recipe and just than noticed so many typing errors, lol, but I bet it still makes sense and is readable (hopefully), I can justify it because English is not my first language but some of this errors made me giggle quite a bit. Turns out some of my brain cells were doing something else at that time. Edit: I probably would’ve done as much typing errors in my first language as well, I am a good gibberish speaker.

Aquafabba (chickpea liquid). There is brand in the UK called OGGs. Or tofu if I want to make a fake scrambled eggs.

I know I work for BirdTricks, but I'm honestly SO EXCITED for this and plan on submitting my own recipe!! (If mine does get picked to go in the book, I'll donate my winnings to someone else who submitted :P). I can't wait to see all the awesome submissions, see Patty and Jamie work their magic, and start cooking some awesome meals to share with my flock!

As a vegan I have so many recipes that I can and do share with Mango (on a rare occasion). I just omit or go light on the onion/garlic or other unsafe ingredients.
