It’s a real shame about the issues with the videos, I couldn’t get it to work on my Patreon phone app, but did get it to work in my phones browser. Just a tip for anyone else struggling. I’m really glad I did too, because my Senegal got featured. It’s really interesting how different people have different training styles. I was struggling to phase out the physical queue while teaching my dog to spin, and a dog trainer suggested giving the verbal, pausing and then giving the physical Q. The logic here being that it gives the dog a bit of time to think. I would love to phase out the physical cue, so I had taken the same logic. It does seem as if the bird is trying to reach towards my finger, so I did wonder if I had angry on cue. Especially with the bird vocalising, which actually hadn’t noticed until you pointed it out. I’m told the markings suggest the bird is female, but I’m not fully sure. With regards to the treat delivery, I’ve never really had issues, but two things might be at play here. Firstly, my depth perception is a bit rubbish, and secondly, There was a moment where I was wondering if I had angry on cue. I think the birds beak was slightly open which is what made me wonder.

For the Amazon, we use a small bowl that is intended for smaller birds (you can screw them onto the bars) to feed my African Grey, you can get up to 5 tbsp in there, more than enough for feeding bigger birds too!

Also I would make sure the Pineapple and the Crimson belly conures are properly bonded, some birds present self harming behaviors when they’re stressed by another bird.

I was really hoping at the 10 minute mark when Dave had his "shirt emergency" that it was going to be the start of a "how many shirt changes can I get on camera" type of video. But in all seriousness Dave and Jamie always makes my heart happy ❤ I have so much love for all that they do.
