Can you train a behavior just by doing it a couple times (3-5) and just leaving it for a while later until it becomes clearer for the bird of what you expect of him? Or do you have to train it for a full session for him to understand a new thing? Is it a human tendency of wanting more of the new stuff or does it makes more sense for the bird if you work just on one trick for a session? For example I struggle a lot with ques, so I feel like it will screw up my training if I keep on training the same thing for a long time, I’d become frustrated first- and screw it up my self with my own mistakes out of self frustration, but if I make it very clear within myself that I just end a session with the new thing or do a quickie it is easier for me to not trash it as soon as possible. My bird expects me to know exactly what I expect of him, and 3 reps of a new thing is like the perfect number of practice reps for me to have just a clear focus and do it right, so I train myself to give a clear que without overdoing.
