When I first started I had a hard time finding the amount of uncooked grains/legumes that would equal 1 cup of cooked. I ended up making way too much.

What is the chop consisting of? What are the pellets you tried? What bird it is? I feel like it is a cockatiel lol. That’ll make it easier for them to answer your questions. Oh! And look up diet conversion both on BirdTricks YouTube and on their patreon, they have some gems that helps a lot just binge everything I had benefited from their diet related videos a lot!

My bird loves it fresh too. He'll sit on the side of the bowl and dig in until he is stuffed. I've even eaten the fresh myself with a little salt and olive oil...hahaha. I tried making it weekly for a while. I still used small portions of the cooked grains and beans from frozen. I cut up the fresh veggies into chunks and whirled them in a mini-food chopper to order. Mix with grains/beans. It got to be a bit much but I do consider going back to it when my bird has an uninterested spell.

What are some of the textures you took into consideration while crafting the cook book, When creating my own toys for my bird, I have noticed birds are very texture oriented, they can be very satisfied with textures that repeat and very satisfied with the depth of textures, I am interested to see if you have noticed anything enrichment wise, I bet this question could be hard to answer because with food you don’t really know if the change in behavior is influenced only by health and nutrition or influenced as well by enriching textures, but if you do have any ideas to share I’d be so interested in learning more. Since eating is an enriching experience, I think you might have some ideas you could share.

I know that your sfs is their main diet but how often do you make the other recipes in your cookbook for your birds?

My cockatiel hates all things red or pink, therefore he hates beets and won’t eat the summer seasonal freeze dried with beets. Any way to get a bird to try a color of food? He loves his greens and will even eat orange sweet potatoes but nothing that is red.

Not really related to the seasonal feeding system, but still food themed, I feed my parrot chop and those seed mixes with eggs or dried fruits (I tried pellets so many times and different brands he just won't eat it so I just crush it and add to the chop) is there a way to get him to eat stuff he just throw from his bowl? Banana pieces, pepper, or nuts.

What do you do about birds that prefer chunky vegetables? Yes, there is waste but I'm OK with that if it means my birds eats more veggies. Can this fit in with seasonal feeding system?

I have cockatiels and budgies that are all on the natural feeding system and also your pellets but also the blueberry and cockatiel seed mixes respectively. My question is with small birds do I need to only use the seed mixes as treats or do I try to find the right combination of all three? Sorry I have a second question and I've looked for the answer to this and haven't really been able to find it. Is black rice ok for the birds? It's the best of the three for hoomans just wasn't sure about birds.

I have switched my birds over to the natural feeding system, but lately they haven't been that interested. Have you ever had that problem? I even have mixed it with sweet potato and egg. They love it when it's fresh. Do I just need to make a weeks worth?
