Thank you so much for this! I had wondered about a few behaviors being hormonal or nesty, and this confirmed my suspicions, especially that little wing shiver thing. I've also noticed that my GCC will get chatty (saying every word she knows over and over again) when the environment is louder, or when the water is running when I'm doing dishes. I haven't figured out the why of it, just that she does.

I LOVE this! My sun conure is just about 2.5 years, and she has started destroying her down feathers in the last 1 week! I already brought her to the vet for bloodwork, feather and feces cytology - all normal. She also totally "presented" herself when the vet lifted her tail to check her vent out. So! We are pretty sure she's hormonal. I watch all your stuff and do research where I can, but there just isn't a lot on smaller parrots, especially as it relates to hormones! Appreciate this post.

This was very helpful. It confirmed some behavior patterns that I needed confirmation on. Like loud whistling and talking when I get on phone. Interactions with me when other people are in the room, or maybe even just in the house. Thanks 😊

My husband and I have noted that our birds tend to get annoyed if we talk to each other instead of focusing on them when they are on us. Same with the phone. We can't talk on the phone with a bird on us. My hahn's gets mad if I even look at my phone when he's around.

So happy to see a GCC. I would not have pegged that as nesty. Makes me wonder what our GCC is doing that we are not picking up on. When I get home tonight I'll be watching him more closely & he's going to think I'm creepy 😆
