I was thinking the same. I'm sure her owner loves her but she might just be this chill personality. She might change over the years, or not. There's no shame in responsible rehoming when it's really in the best interest of the animal. Or... work with what you have & love her with her quirks. We all have them :)

I agree! She may eventually come around, but it may be worth arranging the correct accomodations for her independent character.

You are doing very well. It is actually encouraging to see that there are just some birds that take a while! You are incredible knowledgable it is noble to see this level of care that you have for Fennel. You can do this!!!

My sun conure was this way for months after I got her. She wasn’t interested in any treats, birds, and people. She was happy hanging out alone and playing with her toys. I thought I’d lucked out and happen to get a quiet independent sun. I miss those days now 😆 She is still my chillest bird, but she’s very attached to me now. She is also very motivated to train for treats. Hopefully Fennel will come around?

maybe part of the solution is going to be to find the right owner for fennel? someone who just wants a bird to chill in the same area as. and then help her current owner find a bird suited for what they want, too. idk, just thinking out loud.
