Thank you for answering the question about my coconut rainbow lorikeet! Also listening to what Dave said about clients using their birds to fulfill their love language makes soooooooo much sense to me! My love language is quality time and my lovebird Kiwi was truly my companion. We spent every minute together when I was home and I even took him with me to Master's classes and to 4th of July BBQ's (safely of course). When he suddenly passed away last December I was devastated and I find myself constantly comparing my lovebird Kiwi to my new lorikeet Phoenix when I know in my mind that I shouldn't. Listening to Dave made me realize that maybe it's not my relationship with Phoenix that's the problem but rather that I'm trying to have the ultimate companion bird like I did with Kiwi. I keep looking for Phoenix to be my cuddly companion like Kiwi was and maybe it will happen one day, and maybe it won't. But realizing this helps me so much in understanding why his biting and random aggression triggers me so much to the point where I'll have a cry session because it will make me miss Kiwi so much. Thanks so much for sharing this portion Dave!
