Providing a variety of toys from the start is super important so they are open to all sorts of colors and textures to try with. Getting Halo to play with toys while I was present was a whole other feat, lol...

I have tried clicking and rewarding for playing with toys to encourage it more, but Tucker immediately loses interest in the toy and thinks I want him to come out and train. So mostly I stuff seeds in his toys to encourage him to chew them.

They seem to know when you're trying to film them. You are right about the babies wanting to test out their beaks. My baby chomps down on everything he sees. I have toys stashed in all corners of the house to keep him busy. He is currently obsessed with hard plastic and paper. I wasn't paying attention the other day and he took a chunk out of my book in a flash!
