I just joined. I am assuming that the freeze dried is some sort of food but I have no idea what it is so can someone explain it? We just bought a very young White-bellied Caquiue. She loves your pellets. We are still hand-feeding her formula 3 times a day which is a milestone for us as she was on feedings 4x a day. We are letting her wean herself & letting her set how fast she wants to go.

My bird was a little skeptical of the extra beety taste at first. I added a little pinch of whole wheat couscous to the mix when rehydrating. That did the trick and the couscous is so tiny that he gets some in every bite. Couscous is tiny pasta the size of grains of sand, for those that aren't familiar with it. Because it is so tiny it doesn't require cooking if you aren't in a hurry. Overnight soaking makes it perfect. I also learned to be careful not to mix the rehydrated too vigorously so it keeps it's texture. I added the couscous trick to my review. It is really a lovely product.
