That's what I have to do to get my Goffin to go into her sleeper cage. I came to this conclusion, as Birdtricks have said avoid biting at all costs, and that if you wouldn't force a tiger to do something don't force your parrot either. Unfortunately, Cheeky is living up to her name though and is currently not taking her treat bribe that's placed in the cage for her. Birds... if you don't game them, they'll game you.

Here’s why this video helped me. I just went to put my bird to bed and she did not want to step off so I tried target stick and nope. At that moment I remembered seeing this video and I put my bird on cage door so she could decide how to go to roost. She leaned over and gave me a kiss and climbed in on her own. You just never know what you might get from a video. Thank you

Comet proving he's not too lazy to fly, just doesn't wanna. Those roll overs had to be more strenuous. My bird also offers up his most charming tricks when he doesn't feel like doing the thing I'm trying to train. Master manipulators. They know how to get us suckers to give up a treat. 🙄🤣
