Jessica: maybe try capturing and hiding your treats and clicker under a table, while getting your Caique to play with toys? Best of luck.

Same! Treats come out and training mode gets turned on. He doesn’t understand training to destroy toys and starts offering all his tricks instead. I’ve had the best luck with the soft wood types that I can stick small treats like sunflower seeds into so he gets the idea to dig for them and eventually destroys them.

I wish I could encourage my caique to do this but when I whip out the treat pouch, he wants into the treat pouch or only focuses on what’s in my hand and how to get it. He stops playing and destroying his toys when he knows treats are involved. 🤷🏼♀️😆 PS - I have a hard time picking a favorite bird of yours but Jinxy is soooo charming!! Love them all!
