Halo (bath time!)
🕑 Added 2020-10-07 17:00:03 +0000 UTCWhen you bathe your bird early on in their lives, they will like it... it's natural for young birds to enjoy it because its in their instincts to bathe! The hard part is making sure throughout their life water is never used as punishment or made to be unenjoyable, and it's important to bathe often enough.

My sun conures also prefer water bowls but they will bathe in multiple ways. I think as long as your bird is not scared of a spray bottle there's no worries about them preferring a dish to bathe in.

Is it important to spray for the bath or is a fresh container (bowl) of water okay for them to bathe in? My sun conures bath every night and they get wet from beak to tail, all over. Curious if that is somehow setting me up for issues later (they're 10 months old, which begs another question...how long are birds considered babies??)

Halo is such a doll! Scrabble loves his baths too. I take him in the shower with me. He cries out in delight the whole time. He bites the water and poses to make sure every inch gets soaked. The only hard part is convincing him to get out!

Wow such excitement! Tucker likes to bathe and he knows the word bath and will usually step up to a perch when I offer him a bath. But he tends to just get super chill when heβs being sprayed, he doesnβt get flappy or bite the water or play with it at all. I assume both responses (excitement or chilling out) are normal since youβve posted video of Bondi falling asleep in the shower. I just find it fascinating π Oh and Halo is beautiful π
