Because I see the same behavior in my grey, Wilson, I am wondering if Bean's "flight response" was actually linked to anxiety. Thinking back to when he first arrived, just like when Wilson first came home, Bean would act just like this when perched on a tree playstand. But this behavior eventually phased out as Bean (and Wilson) settled into his new home. Just a thought. I do hope Bean learns to use his wings - it will give me hope for Wilson, who is also too lazy to fly!!

Bonnie Boo! Well isn’t she the most gorgeous pigeon I have ever seen! Every time I see wild cockatoos and galahs I think “omg Jamie and Capri would loooove this!” (I’m in Adelaide, Australia). Bean did so great with this, what a brave boy 😊

I absolutely loved watching Bondi show pro-level training!! And her cute little voice! It is funny when she keeps flying to the ground to walk aroubd. Bean was sure wondering what in tarnation with all of the new moves!! Such a great way to train new things!!

The kabobs are best not to get wet over and over again or they could harbor bacteria, usually my birds go through them fairly fast but Bean is unable to get himself to a lot of the places they are. I just try to be mindful my toys don't get wet and stay wet. Drying in the sun in the best thing if they have gotten wet.

OMG! This was so fun to watch. Bondi is such a chill little lady, she didn't stress Bean at all. You really know your flock. =0 ) Looking forward to seeing Bean progress to actual flight. 😊

So close. I wonder if he would have if you and Dave had switched places. Less steep an angle and the added motivation of moving away from Dave. Not the ideal situation but a start that can be perfected later.

I thought Mr Bean was gonna fly. Almost. That was fun to watch. Having Bondi seems to help motivate him to want to fly.
