CONTENT WARNING- Mentions of poor health, and family conflict
As some of you may have noticed I’ve been taking more time to fulfill rewards (not behind schedule, just using the FULL allotted time of one month to finish rewards). And premades/fursuit work as slowed down to about 1 premade every month and a half compared to 1 premade a month. I am extremely proud of how fast I complete work, and I want to continue to uphold that personal standard.
I am experiencing some hardships in my personal life and I want to share them with those of you who would like a better understanding of my situation. I won’t disclose everything but these are some of the more pressing issues.
I started a long distance relationship with my lovely partner, and I am lucky enough to be able to see her about once a month, so this means around 5 days a month I’m out of state away from home. Back at home I live with my parents, and home life has been pretty unpredictable. Lots of family dynamics are changing and it’s been hard to adjust. My mother’s mom has been on hospice care for a few months and within the month her health has taken a turn. My grandma is now fully wheelchair bound and my mother has taken the role of caring for her pretty much full time. I’m trying to help as much as I can in my free time, however it’s been extremely hard. I want to enjoy the time we have left with her.
My dad’s side of the family found out that I am gay, and being from a Christian southern family, not all of them are supportive. I was outed by my cousin. She told everyone I was in a gay relationship with a woman. I had no say or power in this decision- I feel extremely hurt and confused. I had every intention to tell them in my own time, I don’t care what people think of me- I just wanted the opportunity to tell them myself.
I’ve done a lot of personal growth over the past two years and I’m trying extremely hard to continue living life and experiencing all the ups and downs that come with it. I’m extremely grateful for everything the furry fandom has done for me, providing an escape and income to provide for my family PLUS myself.
I love working, I LOVE this community, and I want to continue being the best I can be- however I need to take care of myself and personal relationships. I and going to continue at this “slower pace” in order to have the most functional life. I appreciate you all so much and thank for for the time it took to read this! Art is very much an escape for me, and I know for a lot of you it is the same. I will continue sharing art. If you are experiencing hardships just know you are not alone. I'm glad you have been able to take a slower pace with things. Your health and mental health is way more important to many of us then it is for things to be finished quickly. I hope you are able to continue to take time for yourself and enjoy both the ups and downs and make the best of it all for yourself during this time!
