Travel Mishaps
🕑 Added 2025-10-10 13:58:37 +0000 UTCThings seemed to go very smoothly this morning. 3am wake-up, hotel check-out, and ride acquisition all went without a hitch. I got through the first security checkpoint and dropped off my checked bag before I realized why I felt so light and free this morning.
I left my backpack in the Uber.
The driver is long gone, and I’m into the screening area, so there’s no going back. My work phone and work computer can be replaced. But I also lost two cashier notebooks with early chapter drafts for book 4!
Don’t panic. I’ve arranged to have it shipped back to me. But now I have nothing to write in for the next several hours. (iPhone doesn’t count. Tapping out these few words is torture enough!)
Fortunately, when I transferred in Newark I found a Hudson’s Books, and they had my beloved Moleskine cashiers for sale - but only in this hot pink color. And the only suitable charging cable I could find was this rainbow thing.
As long as the words get written, I suppose it doesn’t matter. The characters never need to know.
