CJ Holmes

We know Reginar, Rahel, and maybe Ophelia speak it. We haven't established why it is a secret, or how widespread it is.

"Nobody spoke Spellscript" Rereading this chapter and this line really stands out to me. Several arcs do, and the knowledge is considered restricted. Is it restricted to prevent the humans from finding out?

CJ Holmes

Taylor — 未申報 Human Male.

Istyatur Elestel

I love Taylor viewing the system as a slightly annoying program he has to work with because everyone does. Very relatable and I do love stories that look behind the curtain of the system. Also, this chapter reminds me of every major's terrible. (xkcd) But for classes. Would be more or less funny if the class name was in Mi'iri?

CJ Holmes

His class keeps interrupting his thought process with quests. Taylor suspects the gods are responsible.

Brian P.

BTW, why did Taylor feel the need to stick his head out a window to yell at a thing in his head?

CJ Holmes

Ghost Butler

Who is 'Hermes' on the summoning roster? I don't remember a spirit going by that name, did I miss it in a past chapter?

CJ Holmes

Fair questions. * Taylor has his own reasons for getting a class right now. Basically, having a class makes it easier for him to mess with other people's classes. Granted, I should drop more clues about this change in attitude. It's a revision target. * The church can't harm him in any case, because he's covered by the Covenant. The Covenant is broken right now, but the church is trying hard to fix it. Step One in that process is making nice with our boy. * They could have (and maybe should have) spied on him under the old agreement. That hasn't changed.

Well it is nice to not be rewrite of the land

Brian P.

So Taylor’s prior compact denied the church from coercing him in addition to preventing harm, but that was broken and not renewed, and he just fulfilled his side of it anyway. Isn’t he now MORE susceptible to the church than before? As they stated, there’s nothing stopping them from spying on him, but there’s also nothing stopping them from harassing him beyond their own good sense. And we’ve seen how that goes.

Caleb Reusser

You have a lot of faith in the church.

PatronTurtle

That went way smoother than I was expecting. Really hope access to his class info is heavily restricted and protected within the church

CJ Holmes

A word of warning/reassurance to my readers who love/hate systems: This is not going to become a story about chasing numbers and levels. The class system is deeply relevant to the story, but mainly for qualitative reasons, not quantitative ones. Its social implications are more important than who has how many levels, or how someone decides to spend their skill points.

SixAughtFive

Well this somehow perfectly meets and also exceeds all of my expectations. Taylor is an agent of chaos (for good) if there's ever been one but it seems having a direct readout in your brain of all the ways you're influencing the world while being an agent of chaos can be overwhelming! Gosh though I'm excited to see the absurd consequences of this nonsense he's undertaking on the world at large! Thanks for the chapter by the by!
