What did we do this week? (Jan 27th 2021)
🕑 Added 2022-01-27 16:23:38 +0000 UTCFei : I've been quite worried this month, worried about our sustainability as a game company, worried about our financial status, worrying about uncertain side job that was supposed to help us keep going as a company, all that worrying was hard to live with, and at one point, I simply stopped worrying. Just do the things and stop thinking about things you have no control over. Funnily enough, that fact was kind of reflected in my new plot mission dialog, as Ruby's body awaken to her true nature, she's having an existential crisis, as everything she believed was her reality, was not. She ends up just hanging out with her friends, find herself having fun, and the world keeps spinning. It's not an easy thing, I'm simplifying a lot of things and in the game, in the eye of the player this will probably be just a random dialog in one small mission in the game, but I wrote it with the feels. The Taipei Game Show was a nice reminder that my worries are small and options are there, stories from other developers and talking with people working for publishers, talking with players lifted up some weight. Hopefully Rocket Juice Games will have an honorable future, and Neon Tail will sell enough for us to be proud of this whole enterprise.
這個月我一直相當擔心，擔心我們作為一個遊戲公司可不可以繼續下去，擔心我們的財務狀況，擔心不確定的副業，而這個副業本應幫助我們保持公司的發展，所有這些擔心都是難以忍受的，在某一時刻，我乾脆停止擔心。只管繼續開發遊戲，不要再去想那些你無法控制的事情。有趣的是，這個事實有點反映在我的新的任務對話中，當露比的身體覺醒到她的真實本性時，她正在經歷生存危機，因為她認為是她的現實的一切，其實都不是。她最後只是和她的朋友們在一起，發現自己很開心，而世界一直在旋轉變化。這不是一件容易的事，我簡化了很多東西，在遊戲中，在玩家眼中，這可能只是遊戲中一個小任務的隨機對話，但我是帶著感覺寫的。台北電玩展很好地提醒了我，我的擔心是小的，選擇是有的，其他開發者的故事和與發行商工作的人的談話，與玩家的談話都舉重若輕了。希望火箭果汁遊戲工作室會有一個光明的未來，而霓虹之尾會賣得夠多，讓我們為此感到驕傲。
LEO : Hello everybody, it's been long time since we last posted anything. It's almost Chinese new year, so we've been very busy. We just finished the Taipei Game Show, and because of the COVID 19, there are much less people joining in. Still, many players got to try Neon Tail, and seeing people play our game directly gave us many good feedbacks, praises from players really boost our motivation and give us strength to keep working on the game. Also because the epidemic growing up in Taiwan, we're a little bit worried about our health. I hope everything will be fine. In addition I made some accessories as rewards for new races in the future. There will be one set with those race accessories we already have. Feili said she looks like a Robocop though. We will put them in game with the new races later.
哈囉，各位玩家，已經有一陣子沒有發文了，時間已經接近農曆年底，所以我們相當忙碌，我們剛剛參加完了台北電玩展，因為疫情的關係，這次人潮減少了不少，但是依然有不少玩家現場體驗了我們的遊戲，實際觀看玩家測試給了我們不少的反饋，而且得到玩家的好評永遠都是個刺激，讓我們繼續製作下去。但是因為最近台灣的疫情升溫，我們也有點擔心自己的健康，希望一切沒事。另外我製作了一些飾品作為街頭競賽的獎勵，跟之前已經有的飾品作為一個競賽套裝，雖然Feili覺得她看起來像個機器戰警XD，將來會隨著新的街頭競賽放入遊戲當中。
Yang : I've been working on the Taipei Game Show recently, and unlike before, we finally have a laptop! Due to the impact of covid 19, there were delays in shipping materials all over the world, and the arrival time of the laptop we wanted was also very irregular, so considering the price, performance, and availability, I chose Dell G15, which is a model that can fully utilize the performance of Nvidia 3060 mobile graphics card, and is equipped with the 11th generation Intel I7, I think this laptop is smooth enough for Neon Tail to running smoothly.
This time, I also used a 3.5" floppy disk with Steam keys to sell games, and the advertising effect was not bad.
I think next time if we have more time to prepare and design things better (and if we have more budget, that's a lot of ifs) we can design our booth better and attract more attention.
I think we can continue to polish the opening part of Neon Tail to help new players get in the game more smoothly.
Finally, I hope we can finish Neon Tail in the new year and have a happy new year!
我最近都在進行剛結束的 Taipei Game Show 的準備工作，與以往不同的是，這次我們終於有了筆記型電腦！由於covid 19的影響，全球海運貨櫃運輸都延誤，筆電也是到貨時間非常不固定，考慮到價格、性能、與能夠買到的情況下，挑選了 Dell G15, 這是台能夠完整發揮 Nvidia 3060行動型顯示卡性能的機型，並且搭載了11代行動版Intel I7，我想這台筆電足夠順暢執行Neon Tail。
這次也多了使用3.5吋軟碟片附上Steam keys來販賣遊戲，廣告效果還不錯。
我想下次準備時間更充足也可以設計得更精美，若是有更多預算的話，攤位也可以設計得更漂亮、更吸引目光。
玩家來到我們攤位體驗時間也大幅增加，幾乎都是玩30分鐘以上；也看到很多玩家反應，得到了許多意見，我想我們還是可以繼續對Neon Tail的開頭部分進行打磨，來吸引更多玩家加入。
最後，新的一年，希望可以順利完成 Neon Tail這個案子，新年快樂！
