Traveler: Chapter 9
🕑 Added 2023-05-08 17:15:37 +0000 UTCHarry stood atop a large building as he stared at the hulking creature who threw another car against the bridge. The car exploded on impact, scattering debris all across the highway as the creature released a feral growl.
The evacuation had been underway, and he smirked at the creature before he teleported right over the bridge in front of it and erected a massive barrier to prevent more casualties from the thrown projectiles or its rampage. More than enough civilians had perished already, not to mention the entire platoon of soldiers that had been wiped out. Ross would certainly not be a happy man, that was for sure.
This close, he could properly see what it looked like.
A massive green monster was eye-level with him, with a bald head and molten yellow eyes that seemed to glare at everything around it. Large spikes covered the creature's entire spine, protruding out of him like vertebrae. It had massive arms – easily thrice, perhaps even more as girthy as Wormtail had been. Harry could see its massive ribs visible through that greenish skin. The creature’s legs were twice as girthy as its arms, and spikes protruded out of the back of its ankles.
Yeah, it was an ugly bastard.
He saw the creature barrel through the pillar of the bridge he had been standing on, and he jumped off, landing on the ground, and looking at it interestedly. This creature looked a lot like the Hulk; however, it was even more deformed. Harry could not help but wonder about its origins.
‘Something to think about later. For now though…’
He quickly erected another barrier right in front of the creature, smirking when it bounced off it roughly and fell over. A shockwave ran through the entire terrain at the impact, cracking the roads open and sending people in the distance toppling over.
The creature growled, looking around for whatever had stopped him and its eyes fell on the glowing barrier which it had bounced off of. It got up quickly and charged once again, and Harry smirked when it bounced off and fell over once again.
“It won’t work, you foul, undigested lump!” Harry called out as he willed himself back to visibility, smirking as the creature turned around to glare at him. He was clad in civilian clothes; however, he had obscured his face. All anyone could see was a blur.
“Wow, you truly look like someone puked shit out of their mouth.”
The creature released a loud growl, glaring hatefully at him, and Harry saw its ears for the first time.
“Wow,” he remarked mockingly. “Did a goblin fuck a bat? Where did you get those ears from?”
That was enough. With an agility that indeed took him by surprise, the creature charged straight ahead for him. However, Harry quickly turned himself invisible as well as incorporeal, smirking when the creature crashed through him and straight into the building behind him.
“Ugh, that smelly arse,” Harry grunted loudly as he cast a vicious stinging hex right over its ass, frowning when nothing happened.
“I see. Looks like you’ve got some thick skin. Let’s see how well you can block this.”
Harry cast a massively powerful Confringo as the creature stood back up before it toppled over once again under the impact. Harry nodded. It indeed took a lot of power. Harry was sure this creature could take a hit from a rocket launcher and remain unfazed. It was a godsend that his blasting curse was overpowered and infused with magic.
“Come on then, you massive fatty. Let’s see what you’re made of,” he called out as he took a few steps back and let it recuperate. “However, I’d rather not have the taxpayers’ money wasted any more than it already has, so…”
Without any warning, he rushed forward and touched the creature, vanishing from sight.
“That man is insane,” Fury muttered as he looked at the live feed with Agents Hill and Romanoff before calling the airstrike team off. The two women chuckled, not at all bothered about Harry. They knew what he was capable of, and there was nothing to worry about. Not when he was concerned.
Fury turned to look at them with a frown. “That man needs to take things seriously. He might be strong, but there is always someone stronger.”
“Trust me, Director,” Nat began with a smile. “Harry is well aware of that fact. He might seem like he is not serious right now, but everything is well calculated inside his mind. Even right now, I bet there is a definite plan in his mind about how he’d deal with this creature.”
True to her word, they saw Harry toy with the creature for a few more moments before the two vanished from sight.

A fierce cold wave struck them firmly as Harry teleported the creature with him to the continent of Antarctica, and he immediately applied a multitude of warming charms on himself before looking at the creature.
He dodged immediately, smirking before casting another overpowered Confringo at the back of the creature, sending it sprawling over the snow.
“Come on, moron. At least try a bit,” Harry taunted further. He had already discerned that this creature was at least similar to the Hulk, and if that was the case, angering it would make his work much more interesting. He was under no delusion that this creature could do anything to harm him, however, he did want to test his skills out in an actual battle. So far, he had been sorely disappointed.
“What are you!?” The creature growled as he glared at him, and Harry’s eyes widened.
“Oh, you can talk? Good. Let’s have a chat then. You tell me about you, and I’ll tell you about me. Sounds good?”
The creature snarled. “I’d rather kill you first.”
Harry sighed, before erecting another barrier in front of him. The creature bounced back once again, grunting.
“Look mate, I can do this all day. So you can either talk and I might have mercy on you, or we keep going back and forth until you accept defeat and beg for me to subdue you properly. Your choice.”
The creature glared at him with those malicious eyes as it got ready to charge again, and Harry clicked his tongue before erecting barriers all around it, trapping it inside. It snarled before it started to furiously punch and kick the barriers with all the power it could muster, and Harry had to admit that it was powerful. He had to constantly put an effort into sustaining the barriers, however, sustain he did.
It was almost ten minutes of furious punching and kicking later when the creature was panting harshly, still angered but visibly fatigued, and Harry conjured a chair before sitting down and staring at it.
“Wanna talk now?”
The creature stayed silent.
“Look, whoever you are. I know you are a human and this is an experiment gone wrong. Don’t worry, we can somehow reverse this. You seem to have more control than someone else I know of, so that’s a plus,” Harry intoned.
However, he frowned when the creature started to laugh. A deep, maniacal laugh that seemed to carry well over to the Atlantic.
“Something funny?”
The creature looked at him and glared.
“Don’t you dare compare me to the weakling that Banner is,” he snarled. “You think I am a result of a failed experiment? Oh, you have no idea.”
“Is that so?” Harry raised his eyebrow. “Do tell me then.”
The creature eyed him maliciously, and Harry had to marvel at the control it had over itself.
“I’m Emil,” it grunted. “Born in Russia, raised by the British, and a Royal Marines commando on loan to the U.S. Government. I am a fighter, have been for as long as I can remember. I’m not exaggerating when I say that despite what happened today, if I could put the power I have into the body I had a decade ago, that would be someone you wouldn’t have had such an… easy time with.”
Harry chuckled at the creature’s grimace.
“I see, Emil. So what happened to you?”
“I was a highly decorated soldier. I was sent to take out a massive threat, a big hulking green one. You know who I’m talking about. I thought I was the good guy, that I would become like Captain Bloody America or something when they gave the serum to me.”
Harry looked at the creature keenly.
“Ross?”
“Ross,” the creature nodded. “It is addictive. Power, you know. You gain some, you crave more. The Hulk interested me. I had power, but I wanted more. I’ve been chasing him across the world to discover his secrets, but it was today when I found some of Banner’s synthesized blood in Grayburn when we went to capture him and Ross’ daughter. It was jackpot for me, you know, and I forced that doctor to make me the Hulk. He was beautiful. Godlike. And who doesn’t want to become someone like that!?”
Harry stared at the creature that was now speaking like a proper fanatic. The expression on its face was so foreign that he had to do a double-take.
“Well, congrats,” he said, sarcastically. “You managed to become… beautiful. A true beauty, you are. I’m sure blokes would cream their pants looking at you, or rather, flood them with piss.”
The creature glared at him murderously.
“You don’t have it in you to appreciate the beauty of something beyond human comprehension. However, you have been a formidable opponent. I did not think there could be someone who could so utterly outclass a godlike creature like me. You have my respect for that.”
Harry could only shake his head. It seemed like this person’s mind was entirely gone after all those experiments.
“I get the picture. You’re a fighter. You got power from the serum which changed you somehow, and you wanted more power. Sometime down the line, your mind got warped and you became this weird ass dude that’s now sprouting shit all the time.”
“My mind is perfectly fine!” The creature stood up and growled, and Harry stared at it, unimpressed.
“Eh, every lunatic claims that. Doesn’t change the fact that you’re a crazy S.O.B. But that’s not something I need to concern myself with. You clearly are not a stable person, creature, whatever,” Harry waved his hand dismissively as he stood up. “And that means you can’t be allowed back in the society. Obviously, I can’t send you to some specialized prison that the government can have access to. Ross can easily bail you out to capture Banner. That limits our options considerably.”
Harry looked thoughtful as the creature kept glaring at him. The barrier was still in full force, and it seethed at the fact that it still couldn’t move.
“You know, I never thought I’d create a prison,” Harry began as he looked at the creature contemplatively. “It would take a lot of effort on my part, and I’d rather not deal with the headache it would bring. I could always kill you. Merlin knows you’ve killed more than enough to deserve death.”
The creature punched the barrier furiously once again, and Harry nodded as took the barrier down.
“Alright, so here’s how it will go. You try to kill me, and I try to kill you. Whoever succeeds wins. Simple enough, eh?” He asked with a smirk as he fired a Reducto at the creature, frowning when nothing happened.
“Not all your tricks will work, trickster,” the creature snarled, and Harry grinned as they clashed once again.

Nick Fury was looking outside the window into the distance when he felt movement behind him. He didn’t even need to turn around to know that the headache had come back.
“Where did you take him then?”
“Antarctica.”
Fury whirled around; his eye wide in surprise.
“You truly can travel anywhere in an instant.”
Harry chuckled and nodded before summoning a trunk from out of nowhere. Fury and a few agents who were present, including Maria, looked on in surprise.
“That trunk contains whatever remains of the creature. Do with it what you will, but please, don’t let Ross have access to it. I’d rather not have more of his maniacs running around like the Hulk wannabes.”
“You killed it!?” Fury asked with a deep frown. Harry shrugged.
“It was either kill or get killed. And I love my life more than enough to not die,” he replied as he sat down in a chair, winking at Maria who shook her head. “Good riddance too, I think. The man was far gone into his fanaticism for superiority. Believe me, you don’t want anything to do with a person like that.”
Fury sighed as he stared at Harry with an unblinking eye. “I’d appreciate if you consult with me before taking such decisions in the future.”
Harry shrugged. “Sure. Is there anything else? No offense but I’d rather be doing something else right now. You certainly didn’t call me at the right time.”
Fury grimaced and Harry smirked at Maria’s small smile as she looked away, knowing exactly what he was talking about. Nat had already told her about it.
“Agent Hill, go with Dr. Cho to where Dr. Banner is and have her examine him.”
Harry stood up, clapping his hands and walking over to Maria before wrapping his arm around her waist.
“I’ll see you then, Nick,” he called out without turning around, and Nick Fury sighed before resuming his staring into the distance, ignoring how his steadfast agent giggled like a silly schoolgirl at whatever Potter had said to her.

“Where’s Nat, by the way?” Harry asked as he and Maria walked through the tunnel toward Helen’s lab. Maria chuckled.
“Well, after you teleported with that creature, she quickly pulled me aside, told me what you two had been doing when we called you, and took her leave to take care of herself.”
Harry shook his head. “I reiterate what I said to Nat. Fury is a fucking cockblocker.”
“Now Harry, he is still my boss,” Maria slapped his chest with a chuckle.
Harry smirked before quickly pulling her inside the room to their right and pinning her against the wall. Her eyes widened when he leaned close, pressing his firm body against hers.
“Only here. Elsewhere, you know who your boss truly is,” he smirked, lips ghosting over hers as Maria leaned forwards to capture them, only to sigh disappointedly when he leaned back with a smirk, out of reach.
“Come on, Helen needs to check on Banner. We shouldn’t waste valuable time,” he replied, grabbing her hand and walking out of the room, uncaring of the vicious glare she directed at him. He was sure he’d get it from both her and Nat in a few hours in their bed.
They found Helen in her office, who looked at him and Maria and nodded.
“Nat took all necessary items over to your apartment,” Maria told Harry before looking toward Helen, who nodded with a smile. Harry smiled as he turned to look at the brunette whose waist he had his arm wrapped around and Helen watched the way they were around each other with no small amount of interest. Harry nodded and she smiled when he turned to look at her.
“Hey Helen, ready to go?”
She nodded and watched as Harry picked up a sheet of paper from the table and waved his hand over it.
“Alright then, hold it, and whatever happens, don’t let go,” he said with a smirk, holding the paper forward. Helen and Maria looked at each other before they grabbed it.
Suddenly, the threesome vanished in a swirl of colors, and the women had to stifle their gasps are the world whirled around them. It didn’t take long for them to come to a stop, and they couldn’t hold back the shout of surprise as the ground rushed to meet them.
“Start walking normally!” Harry encouraged them as he wrapped his arms around their waists, and they hastened to follow his command. It did smoothen their landing, but not by much, and Helen groaned against whatever she had collided with.
“Well, I’d really love to be like this with you, but don’t you think we should talk it out first?” An amused voice called from right in front of her, and she opened her eyes to see Harry’s amused turquoise ones staring mirthfully back at her. Surprised, she leaned back and looked around, eyes widening when she realized what position they were in.
“Looking nice though,” an amused voice interjected and she turned to see none other than Natasha Romanoff smirking at them. Helen looked back down at Harry, whose waist she was straddling, and she quickly got up, face flushed slightly.
“You looked right at home there,” Natasha came forward and whispered in her ear, and she closed her eyes, trying to calm her racing heart down. She had never felt like this, and it was an entirely foreign territory to her.
“I’ve got the equipment set up in the guest room on the first floor.”
Harry nodded as he looked at the redhead. “What about the woman? Elizabeth Ross?”
Nat smiled. “Still out cold. You didn’t overpower that stunner, did you?”
Harry chuckled and shook his head. “We should let her sleep then. You ladies head over to the room. I’ll get Banner.”
He saw Maria and Nat nod with smiles before they led Helen toward the guest room on the first floor. The Asian woman looked at him and he smiled at her. She gave a small smile back and followed the redhead and the brunette up the stairs.
Meanwhile, Harry teleported over to the secret room and chuckled when he saw Banner still sleeping soundly.
“Boy you wouldn’t be sleeping so peacefully if I was not here. You better be thankful to me,” he remarked before grabbing him and teleporting away.
The women entered the room and saw Harry suddenly appear out of nowhere with Banner floating beside him. He levitated the man on the bed before nodding toward Helen who walked forward and started to connect Banner to the machines that had already been set up around the bed.
“I leave him in your expert hands, and I’m here in case you need me.”
Helen nodded at him with a smile. Harry walked over and took a seat on the couch. Nat and Maria followed, sitting on either side of him as they watched Helen go about her business.
“How did you subdue him and where did you keep him anyway?” Nat asked inquisitively.
“Dude conducted some experiment to cure himself of his Hulk syndrome. I arrived after it was done, and saw the transformation reversing. Ross’ men decided to storm the building at that moment, so I quickly stunned him and Ross – the female Ross, I mean, before teleporting with them here. As to where I hid him? Well, it’s a secret room I created at a short notice. I’ll show you later,” he replied, smiling when they nodded.
“You really killed that creature?” Maria asked, and Nat turned to look at him interestedly. Harry shrugged.
“I managed to have a small chat beforehand. The dude was already gone. A proper fanatic, you might call him. There is no way I’d have let someone like that with such power remain in the government’s custody. If there is something I’ve learned in my life, it’s to never trust politicians, and there is Ross to consider as well. With what you’ve told me, he doesn’t seem like a trustworthy person, so entrusting custody of this creature to him didn’t make sense.”
Nat nodded while Maria frowned. “SHIELD could’ve somehow made use of him. Director Fury had already deduced that it was a human and he was saying how they could have him become a part of the Avengers Initiative if they could subdue and talk to him.”
Harry scoffed. “Fury needs to understand that there are things, or people that he cannot control. It’s a bad habit.”
No one said anything to that, and they went back to watching Helen run diagnostics over Banner, who was still unconscious.
“You definitely overpowered those stunners,” Nat muttered. “Everything alright, Helen?”
The lovely brunette looked over at the threesome and nodded.
“His vitals are normal, and he is fast asleep. His body is also recovering just fine after that experiment. I’ll need to run blood tests to determine what the actual status is.”
They watched as Helen extracted Banner’s blood and inserted the vial inside the large machine before starting to fiddle with it.
“There was no such heavy-duty machinery back in my old world,” Harry said softly so that only Nat and Maria could hear. The two women frowned and leaned closer. Harry had told them everything about his previous world and they both found it fascinating.
He smiled at them and continued, “At least to my knowledge. But then I never got involved with a secret organisation. However, I’m sure it was technologically much further behind this world.”
“You still miss them sometimes, don’t you? Those you left behind?” Maria asked softly. Harry sighed.
“There are moments, I’m not gonna lie,” he replied, looking at them with a small smile before taking their hands in his. “But I’ve got this brilliant life with you all now, and I won’t give this up for the world. You all mean too much to me now.”
Nat and Maria both smiled before leaning forward and kissing him softly. Harry wrapped his arms around them, caressing their sides once they pulled away.
“Don’t think this will save you from whatever’s coming your way tonight after the stunt you pulled this morning,” Nat whispered with a dangerous smile as Maria nodded, looking equally anticipatory.
“Stunts, and what she said,” she added, winking at Nat who grinned. Harry raised an eyebrow.
“Let’s see what you can do then,” he smirked before leaning back and looking over at Helen who glanced at them out of the corner of her eye for a second before going back to her analysis. He chuckled. The woman couldn’t be more obvious.
“I think your talk did work,” Harry whispered, looking at Nat before gesturing towards Helen with his eyes. The redhead smirked while Maria looked at them, confused. Nat rolled her eyes and quickly leaned close to the brunette, whispering in her ear, and Harry saw Maria’s eyes slowly open wide.
“Well… I have no problem either,” she muttered and leaned back, staring at the Asian woman for a few moments before nodding. “Mm-hmm. No problem at all. Go for it.”
Harry chuckled. “Glad I have your permission as well.”
Maria could only shake her head with a chuckle at that.

It was half an hour later when Helen came over to them and took her seat.
“Done with it all?” Harry asked with a smile. The woman sighed.
“More or less. Good news is that there are no complications. Dr. Banner is fully stable and should wake up when your spell wears off. However… his blood samples still contain the mutations as a result of Gamma radiation, which means he has not been cured. The experiment he underwent at Grayburn simply forced the reversal.”
“And is that a good thing or a bad thing?” Maria asked, and Harry listened in interest as Nat also looked at the woman with utmost seriousness.
Helen sighed. “Bad. Very bad.”
“What do you mean?” Nat asked with a frown.
“Dr. Banner and the Hulk are two separate entities, and as such, they have separate consciousness and reasonings. Where Dr. Banner is like any other human, the Hulk is a prideful and angry beast that would not have taken a forced reversal well. I think there is a very high likelihood that the Hulk will force a transformation once Dr. Banner wakes up in full health. Even if it doesn’t, the next time Dr. Banner transforms, the Hulk would be very hard to contain.”
Harry leaned back with a sigh. It could get worse. Unlike Blonsky, he did not want to hurt Banner. He was a good man thrust into an unfortunate scenario, and he was suffering ever since he had been exposed to Gamma radiation.
“What triggers the Hulk to come out? Anger? Is that it?”
“It can be any negative emotion powerful enough to severely influence his mind,” Helen replied.
“So what you’re saying is that we can keep the Hulk at bay if Banner is kept away from negative emotions that can put a strain on his psyche?” Harry implored further, and Helen looked at him thoughtfully.
“It is possible, yes.”
Nat looked at Harry with inquisitive eyes. “What are you saying, Harry?”
Harry turned towards her and smirked. “It means we simply need to keep Banner happy, and the Hulk will never some out.”
“That’s overly simplistic, don’t you think?” Maria asked skeptically, and Harry nodded.
“I get what you mean. It is impossible to always keep away from negative emotions. So we can either do something to keep him perpetually happy, or we do something to train his mind so that he learns to maintain firm control over all the negative emotions. Pain, sorrow, anger, frustration, helplessness, guilt, fear, jealousy, and whatever else.”
“There is no way someone can always remain free from those emotions at all times forever,” Helen interjected. Harry nodded.
“We can try to train him. I will use a few spells to keep him cheery, and we can create scenarios to expose him to all those negative emotions, obviously while he is adequately confined. Over time, he will learn to control those emotions.”
“That sounds quite… sadistic,” Maria muttered with a frown, and Harry sighed.
“Not to mention cruel. But I don’t think there are any other options. I believe the Hulk is the manifestation of these negative emotions, and if Banner can conquer them, he could possibly control the Hulk as well.”
Their eyes widened at that.
“Well,” Helen began hesitantly, “your method does sound quite unconventional, but I can see it working. However, I cannot give you the go ahead without first discussing this with Director Fury.”
Harry shrugged. “Feel free to discuss this with Pirate Man.”
Nat let out an unladylike snort at that as Maria did all she could to hold back a laugh. However, it was Helen’s reaction that surprised them the most. The beautiful Asian let out a tinkling laugh, and all three stared at her in amazement before joining in as she continued to laugh until tears filled her eyes.
“Oh…” Helen gasped, wiping her eyes with her fingers, still chuckling. “I need to remember that one.”
Harry grinned. “Glad you liked it so much.”

Harry teleported Banner back to his temporary room before returning to the room where the women were.
“We’ll see you soon, Harry,” Nat said with a smirk before grabbing Maria’s hand and walking out of the room, leaving Harry alone with Helen. He chuckled to himself, knowing that whatever they had decided to punish him with would await him once he returned to their room.
Smiling, he turned towards Helen who looked at him with a small smile.
“It’s late. I must be going now,” she said. Harry nodded and stood up, holding out a hand for her. Helen smiled and let him pull her to her feet before they walked out of the room and down the stairs together.
“So…” He started, looking sideways at her. Helen looked at him as they reached the living room.
“Have you thought about what I asked you?” He asked with a smile. Helen gave a small smile back and nodded.
“Okay. I’ll go out with you.”
Harry grinned, and Helen couldn’t help but giggle at the look on his face.
“Brilliant. Dinner, tomorrow?”
Helen nodded, still smiling.
“Nice. I’ll pick you up at your place then?”
“You know where I live as well?” She asked in surprise. Harry chuckled and shook his head.
“I was hoping I could drop you back to your place now. Would save you time and hassle, and I’d know where to pick you up as well.”
Helen chuckled as she shrugged. “I hope it would be different from how we came here? I’m not a huge fan of the spinning.”
Harry wrapped his arm around her waist in response which earned him a raised eyebrow from the woman. He smiled down at her.
“Don’t worry. It’d be the most comfortable you’ve ever travelled. Now tell me where you live so I can take us there.”
Helen nodded, and shortly, she found herself standing right in front of the entrance to the building that housed her apartment. Surprised, she turned to look at Harry and grinned.
“I live in the only penthouse on the 42nd floor. You have my consent to take me to and from the Helicarrier and wherever I need to go every day from now on.”
Harry looked at her in surprise before chuckling.
“So that’s what I am, huh? Your daily commute?”
Helen smirked up at him, and simply patted his cheek in response, not bothering to reply verbally. Smirking, she turned around and walked away, putting extra emphasis on the sway of her hips. Harry could only stare at her retreating rear in surprise, wondering how she had gotten so confident.
“Nat must’ve had some conversation with her,” he muttered to himself, chuckling as he stared at her swaying back until she vanished inside the building. Smiling contentedly, he teleported back to his apartment, ready to see what his ladies had in store for him.

Harry’s eyes widened when he entered their room, zeroing in on the figures of his two girlfriends clad in matching shiny black outfits that covered only the most enticing parts of their alluring bodies.
“Wha…”
“Come on over here,” Nat instructed firmly, and Harry shrugged before doing as he was told. He let them pull his clothes off his body and push him down on the bed, looking at them with raised eyebrows when they came on either side of him.
“You’ve been a bad boy, mister,” Maria whispered with a dangerous gleam in her eye, and Harry saw their hands go under the bed. His eyes widened when he saw what they had pulled out.
“Is this really necessary?” He asked, playing the role of an apprehensive young man as they tied his hands against the headrest before smirking and doing the same to his legs. He lay there, sprawled on his bed with all movement restricted as the two beautiful women stared at him from where they were leaning over his groin at the edge of the bed.
“More than necessary,” Nat nodded.
“Come on, that’s overkill now,” he complained genuinely when he saw her whip out a blindfold from her cleavage. He grew confused when Maria pulled out another one.
“Where did you even get all this from?” He asked, exasperated when Nat blindfolded him.
“Got it before coming here. Now shut up. Maria, do it,” Nat instructed. Maria nodded and tied the fabric over his mouth.
“Nice,” Nat smirked as Harry was rendered unable to see, speak, or taste. “Time for your punishment then.”
Harry could not see anything, but he could still hear. It started faintly, but soon there was no mistaking it.
“Oh yesss… right there… just like that. Oh Nat your tongue feels so good~”
