Moving Forward: Chapter 8

“Excuse me, Monseiur Black,” Fleur began with a small smile as the older man turned to look at her.
“Call me Sirius, mademoiselle,” he grinned and bowed with a flourish, coaxing a soft giggle out of her.
“Sirius then,” she smiled. “Where is everyone? This is the headquarters, right?”
Sirius nodded.
“Indeed it is, but not everyone lives here. The Weasleys, they’re a family who support the Order, live here along with Harry’s friend Hermione, and a couple others. The girl you met downstairs is their youngest daughter. They must be somewhere, doing whatever, I don’t pry. Harry is in the duelling room in the basement with Nymmie and Natalie,” he finished with a chuckle.
Fleur’s smile broadened on hearing that Harry was here before she frowned a little.
“Nymmie and Natalie?”
Sirius nodded with a snigger.
“Nymphadora Tonks. She’s my cousin Andromeda’s daughter and an auror. Don’t call her by her name, though. She hates it. And Natalie is another Order member. She’s a healer. You’re going to share the room with them. Don’t worry, they’re both really great. You’ll like them.”
Fleur absently nodded.
“Tell me, how well do you know Harry? You competed in that tournament last year, right?” Sirius asked as they kept walking. Fleur was looking around at the house. It was not the worst one she had ever been in, but it could use a bit of work.
“He’s a very good friend, and he helped me a lot. I’m really looking forward to see him again,” she replied. Sirius looked at her happy face for a second before a grin overtook his features.
“Is that so? He must’ve left quite an impression on you if you’re so keen,” he remarked with a grin, laughing internally at Fleur’s blush.
‘Way to go, Harry! Three, all older. A metamorph, a Huldra and now a fuckin’ Veela! Bloody hell!’
He kept his features schooled though, smiling genially.
“He’s a remarkable person. It’s not tough for him to leave an impression on anyone,” she smiled. Sirius grinned as he nodded.
“Here we are,” he remarked as he pushed the door open. There was no one inside, and the room was entirely made up. Fleur entered behind him and saw that it was richly decorated, with curtains that looked expensive, a massive bed that could easily fit four to five people, and everything one could need.
“Is it alright?” Sirius asked as he turned around. Fleur nodded with a smile.
“It’s very good.”
Sirius smiled. “Make yourself at home then. The bathroom is that way. I’m sure Nymmie and Natalie would be coming sooner rather than later. Merlin knows she won’t last five minutes against Harry,” he grinned. Fleur chuckled.
“Okay. Thank you,” she smiled.
“Anything for Harry’s dear friend,” he grinned with a knowing look. Fleur noticed it and blushed as he walked out of the room.
‘Merlin, am I that transparent?’
She shook her head and looked around. The room had been cleaned very thoroughly, she noted and gave an approving nod. Clearly whoever did this knew how it worked.
“Alright then, time to set my things up,” she muttered to herself.

Harry raised his eyebrow as he stared at his godfather.
“Hmm? So… what?”
Sirius grinned as he looked at Nym and Nat, holding their gaze for a few seconds each, before grinning at Harry.
“Is there something I should know about?”
Harry heard Nym snort beside him as she walked forward.
“And what do you want to know, you old dog?” She smirked as she looked at him. Sirius grinned.
“I think you know exactly what I’m talking about. Don’t think I don’t know what’s going on here.”
“And? You’re gonna do what? Tell us not to do it anymore?” Tonks asked with a glare. Nat shook her head beside him with a sigh and walked forward before pulling Nym back.
“He’s enjoying this,” she muttered, looking at Sirius with a deadpan stare. “You’re still a lecher, aren’t you?”
Sirius chuckled.
“Come on, Nat! My godson is shagging two striking women, both older than him. You want me to not even ask!?”
The women flushed before glaring at Sirius, who sat there with a grin.
“No, you don’t ask. You go and find someone or rub one out. We don’t care,” Nym said. Sirius sighed.
“Alright, Nymmie. No need to get so snippy about it. I don’t care who my godson has relations with as long as he knows what he’s doing. Just remember not to let little baby Potters run around until the war is over,” he remarked with a chuckle. Nym and Nat blushed before glowering at the man. All the while, Harry kept wondering whether his godfather had a death wish.
“Thank you for your concern. Is there anything else or should we head to our rooms?”
“No, go ahead. Your roommate has just arrived and I’ve shown her the room. She must be unpacking right now.”
Nym exchanged a look with Nat before they looked at Harry, who shrugged.
“Alright then, see you all,” she nodded before taking Nat’s arm. Harry watched their retreating backs for a moment before walking over to his godfather.
“Do you really have a death wish?” He asked with a sigh. Sirius merely snickered in response.

“So, who do you think it could be?” Nym asked her as they walked towards the staircase. There was no sound around them apart from their footsteps.
“No clue. I hope she’s accommodating though.”

Nym hummed in response. It had been a massive surprise when Harry and Nat told her just what had happened. “That thought seems so weird now. I was with his parents, and now I’m with him. In another world, I might’ve been his stepmother as well,” Nat said between chuckles as Nym laughed alongside her.

Nat smiled.
“You’re correct. I’m from Sweden,” she stood up and walked forward, “I’m Natalie, and that’s Nym, nice to meet you.”
“Fleur Delacour, pleased to meet you too.”
Fleur smiled and shook her hand, before abruptly grabbing it and pulling the woman close. Her eyes gained a dangerous gleam to them as she stared at the woman in front of her. Nym quickly stood up and rushed towards them.
“Hey, what’s the matter?”
Fleur raised her hand and traced Nat’s face with a peculiar look on her face, before looking at Nym. The metamorph had no chance to react as she saw the veela trace her face with her fingers as well. Quickly, Nym turned to look at Nat and nodded.
“This is perfect! We don’t even have to convince you now!”
Fleur looked at Nym, confused.
“Convince me for what?”

He held his wand loosely in his hand as a thick dark tome floated in front of him. A page turned on its own as his eyes scanned the words scribbled all over it. It seemed the previous reader of this book was a particularly messy person since each page was engraved with annotations with no particular care as to which words were overlapped by the ink. It was slightly difficult to separate the original text from the notes, but he was managing just fine.
Assimilating all of Voldemort’s memories that he had gained into his psyche had taken him a long time, and now that he was done with that exercise, it was time to take long strides in this war. The sooner he ended this shit, the better it was for everyone. There would be no endless bloodshed, and people could go about their regular lives.
Horcruxes. A pathetic creation that went against the laws of nature. Voldemort, in his infinitely idiotic wisdom, had the wonderful idea to create the abominations to tether his soul to the physical realm. Even if his body was destroyed, he could not pass on. All it would take is one ritual out of many there were to revive him.
But the cunt’s reckoning had come now. He had marked his downfall, and there was nothing he could do now that would save him.
Right after moving in, he had been provided Regulus Black’s room in this house. He recalled how Voldemort had asked the man for his house elf to hide his Horcrux in that accursed cave, leaving the elf to die. He needed to make that journey soon. The Horcrux would remain there, there was no doubt about that, and he needed to take someone with him to get rid of that vile potion of despair.
It was another thing he had noticed after the absorption was complete. His personality had distorted as a result of the memories. It was a well-known fact that memories shaped a person, and since he had Voldemort’s memories, a part of him, no matter how small, was Voldemort now. His Horcrux inside him might be no more, but there still was a remnant of the dark tosser inside him. It was a small mercy that he didn’t need to die again to kill the noseless cunt.
He had to thank that ritual for this boon as well. It had curbed Voldemort’s negative influences on his brain to an extent that only a few of his characteristics were reflected in his demeanour and actions. Calculating, ruthless, cunning; not cruel, evil, remorseless. It did not affect him now as much as it would previously have when he thought of taking someone with him to drink that potion in his stead. Even if such a person would be a vile one who would deserve every bit of it and more. He would have to think about who to take with him.
Until then, he had a few more Horcruxes to take care of. He had the location of all of them. It would take some time, but he was confident that he could get the task done. Voldemort was not going to show himself anytime soon. The flat-nosed bastard was hiding in the grass like the snake he was, biding his time and gathering his venom to strike one lethal blow and topple his adversary. Too bad that said adversary had the most potent antidote inside him.
A small disturbance pulled his attention away and he looked to the side. His eyes drank in the budding curves of his best friend’s sister before he smiled at her.
“Hey Gin,” he greeted as he sat straight and looked at her.
He smirked when he saw her blush slightly before she smiled and walked over to sit beside him.
“Hey Harry, what are you doing here?”
Harry showed her the book. “Nothing much, just reading up,” he remarked easily, leaning back as Ginny took the book from him.
“Prospiciens in Obscurum,” she whispered.
“A compendium on Obscure magic, found it in the library. It seemed interesting,” he replied as Ginny opened the book.
“It’s barely readable,” she noted, turning the pages. “All the pages are almost the same.”
Harry nodded.
“It’s been a little tough, but I managed somehow. Now tell me what brings you here.”
Ginny looked at the book for a moment, biting her bottom lip gently as she kept her eyes down. He waited for her to get ready to say whatever she wanted to.

Nat and Nym exchanged wide-eyed looks with each other, before looking at Fleur.

“He is a powerful wizard, there is no doubt about that. But even he will need others to fight alongside him.”
“We are already with him, and we are not going anywhere,” Nat intoned, looking at Nym who nodded.
