A Familiar Bond: Chapter 25

Daphne snorted, her mirthful gaze affixed on the Beauxbatons carriage in the distance.
“So you do admit it’d be bragging,” she replied, squeezing his hand affectionately.
“Well, I know it’s no small feat satisfying three brilliant women like you together.”
“Not to worry, mon amour. My Papa is with a veela too. Safe to say, he must be very capable himself,” Fleur let out a tinkling laugh, pecking him on the cheek.
“You really are a pervert,” Valerie smirked as she walked on Fleur’s other side.
“And you all won’t have me any other way,” Fleur grinned.
“Nah, wrong,” Harry shook his head, smiling. “I’d have all of you in any way possible. Nothing’s gonna change that.”
The three young women exchanged understanding looks with each other, their eyes filled with tender love for their man as they walked toward the carriage.
Fleur, ever the eloquent one, quipped instantly. “And he’s gone being sappy again. For a man who’s going to kick that dark wizard’s butt, you sure are a softy.”
Harry chuckled at her teasing grin. Although they had not performed the ritual yet, they had shared enough with her over the weeks so that she could understand what she was truly getting into. Fleur was no coward and she emphatically asserted herself with them, proclaiming proudly that she would fight alongside her lovers, and that had been the end of the discussion.
It took them a few minutes until they were back in the carriage and one look at the Delacours told them that they knew what had transpired the previous night between them. Fleur’s mother, Apolline Delacour smiled brilliantly as her daughter gave her a meaningful nod accompanied by a bright grin. Meanwhile, her father, Antoine Delacour merely inclined his head in acknowledgment. The man did not look overly happy but he seemed accepting of the fact that his daughter had found someone, or rather, a few she wanted to spend her life with and it was the best match her veela magic could ever bond with.
“So it’s done, hmm? I must admit I am surprised,” Apolline remarked as she welcomed them and they took their respective seats.
“Yes, Maman,” Fleur smiled. “’Arry successfully convinced the veela last night. She has no complaints now.”
Apolline nodded and shifted her gaze to her husband who looked distinctly uncomfortable. Feeling her eyes on him, he let out a small sigh and nodded.
“Then I believe there is nothing else to discuss,” the man replied and turned to Harry who gazed back respectfully.
“I can understand how hard it must be for you, but thank you for agreeing to this,” he intoned politely.
“My daughters’ happiness is the most important thing for me,” Antoine sighed. “It was a given that she could never find true happiness if she couldn’t be with you, so opposing this union was never in my best interests. You only had to convince the veela, and now that you have, I believe we are ready to move ahead with this.”
Harry nodded and turned to Fleur. The veela graced him with a loving smile.
“If it isn’t too much of an ask,” Apolline’s enquiring voice caught their attention. The woman smiled. “Both my husband and I would like it if you performed this ritual right here in front of us. We know it would happen in an instant but we would like to see what happens right after.”
“Err…” Harry trailed off, glancing at Daphne and Valerie who let out small chuckles. The two young women explained what followed the ritual and the Delacour parents instantly shut up.
“I see…” Apolline muttered awkwardly, glancing at her husband mirthfully. He was pointedly keeping his eyes averted from their entourage. “We can’t help it then.”
Fleur gave her mother a warm smile.
“So this ritual… it would make you married once you do it?” Antoine asked, earning a nod from Harry.
“Yes, it’s a pure bonding ritual which means we will be together until the end of our days. Even the family records are updated as they usually do after a wizarding or muggle marriage.”
The meaning was not lost on anyone and perhaps for the final time, Antoine fixed his daughter with a serious gaze.
“You do understand you all will die together if anything happens to either one of you, right?” He asked with a foreboding voice, undoubtedly scared for his daughter’s life and not at all pleased that it depended on not one, but three other people.
For her part, Fleur was totally assured and she nodded firmly, her face set in determination.
“I understand everything this involves, Papa,” she replied softly. “And I accept everything about this union – both the good and the bad.”
Antoine Delacour took a deep breath as he held his wife’s hand firmly, squeezing as he exchanged a meaningful look with her.
“All right,” he whispered. “You have our blessings.”
Harry felt relief wash over him as he squeezed Fleur’s hand and gazed at her father, fully understanding everything he was thinking.
“I will do everything in my power to do right by Fleur,” he intoned promisingly. “And I will ensure all your reservations would be for nothing. You have my word.”
Antoine Delacour gazed at Harry Potter with his lips set in a thin line. The two kept staring at each other, silently communicating their feelings and finally, Antoine let out a small smile.
“I will hold you on to that promise,” he said, raising his teacup in a toast as he regarded everyone. “And it might be unconventional, but still, welcome to the family, all three of you.”

“Those prissies do love to eye up men who are taken, don’t they?”
“Only a particular one, I’m afraid.”
“Hmm. Can’t say I blame them, even though I’d prefer them to keep their eyes far away from this,” Valerie nodded, and Harry’s breath hitched when she grabbed his manhood under the table.
“Again?” He asked in exasperation, eyeing her up.
“You gonna complain?” She asked huskily, leaning closer.
Harry smirked and glanced away, refocusing on his breakfast.
“Thought so,” Valerie chuckled and took her hand off. Turning toward Fleur, she asked, “You’d said you had a plan? For the Ball?”
“Oh yes,” the veela smirked. “And one which I bet we all will enjoy a lot.”
“The pervert’s brain is cooking something,” Valerie remarked dryly. “Go on. What is it?”
“Not here,” Fleur replied. “I’ll tell you all when we get back to our bedroom upstairs.”
“Hmm… I got no clue what you’re thinking but I can say it’s gonna be fun,” Valerie grinned. “Right, Daph?”
Daphne did not respond and as they turned toward her, they were surprised to see her staring at the Daily Prophet with a shocked face. She had gone white, her eyes wide in shock and her hands gripping the paper tight enough to almost tear it.
Unbeknownst to them, she was not alone. Every person present in the Great Hall who had picked up the paper as it arrived barely a minute ago was staring at the front page with an ashen face.
“Daph?” Harry asked in concern, placing a comforting hand on her shoulder while the other took the hand holding the paper, pulling it closer. He leaned over to take a look and his eyes bugged out.
“What?” He whispered as he slowly lowered the paper on the table so that Fleur and Valerie could also see and he heard the former’s gasp while the latter’s hand tightened on his thigh.
Shocked, the foursome read the article with growing disbelief.
MASS BREAKOUT AT AZKABAN PRISON – WEREWOLVES ATTACK!

In a shocking display of carnage, the Azkaban prison was the site of a brutal assault last night that has left the wizarding world reeling. In a coordinated attack, a pack of savage werewolves, led by the notorious Fenrir Greyback, stormed the island fortress, easily overwhelming the Auror guards and setting free numerous dangerous criminals.
Eyewitness accounts paint a grisly picture of the carnage that unfolded. "It was absolute pandemonium," recounts one Auror, who managed to escape and wishes to remain anonymous. "We were simply no match for their brute strength and savage nature. They tore through us like wild animals."
Indeed, the scene left in the wake of the attack is nothing short of horrifying. Numerous aurors lay dead, their bodies scattered across the island, while several high-profile Death Eaters successfully managed to escape the confines of their cells.
Indeed, the escaped prisoners include some of the most dangerous witches and wizards in recent memory – Rudolphus and Rabastan Lestrange, Antonin Dolohov, Amycus and Alecto Carrow, and Augustus Rookwood, to name a few. With these hardened criminals roaming free, the wizarding world faces a grave new threat.
The big question on everyone's mind - how could this happen? How could the Ministry's vaunted security measures at Azkaban be so easily breached? Surely, with the dementors guarding the prison, one would think the Ministry would have firm control over the island prison.
Clearly, that was not the case. Sources within the Department of Magical Law Enforcement have indicated that staffing levels at Azkaban have been woefully inadequate, with Aurors spread thin across other priorities. Furthermore, intelligence gathering on potential threats to the prison appears to have been sorely lacking.
"It's an absolute disgrace," another auror who wishes to remain anonymous fumed. "We've been warning the higher-ups for months about the potential threat of a werewolf attack, but our concerns were brushed aside. Now look at the mess we have on our hands."
However, what raises the most suspicion is the sudden order from an undisclosed ministerial department to recall more than half of the auror force from Azkaban mere hours before the attack. Furthermore, the dementors happened to desert the fortress as well and no communication or warning signals could be received to or from the island, painting a rather grim picture.
Does this indicate the involvement of a high-ranked ministry official who could have access to the official documents to issue such a command? Can we even consider the walls of Azkaban to be the impenetrable fortress we once believed?
The readers should remember that Lord Sirius Black, who has since been cleared of all charges, and his cousin, Bellatrix Lestrange, who has been proclaimed dead, also succeeded in escaping the island prison a little over a year ago.
Greyback and his pack of murdering werewolves have since disappeared into the night, their whereabouts unknown.
The time has come for a full, transparent investigation into the glaring security failures that allowed this tragedy to unfold. The credibility of the Ministry hangs in the balance, and we the people demand answers.
For if Azkaban is no longer safe, then nowhere in the wizarding world is.
“How the fuck did this happen!?” Harry hissed as he shoved the paper to the side.
“This isn’t Greyback,” Valerie whispered assuredly, earning herself the attention of all her spouses. “He’s a beast. He doesn’t have the brains to manage something on this scale. Someone cleared the way for him and all he had to do was what he and his pack does best. Massacre.”
“The article does point out those suspicious commands,” Daphne nodded. “I bet someone from the ministry is the mastermind.”
“Who though?” Harry took a deep breath as he thought about it. “Who stands out? Maybe one of the recent promotions or appointments? Does anyone ring a bell?”
“The heads of department have been the same for over a decade now, and all are beyond suspicion,” Daphne said gravely. “Fudge is a coward who wants peace. He’d rather stick his head in the sand than trigger an avalanche for his government like this. It can’t be him either.”
“Has to be one of the department heads or people close to them,” Fleur intoned softly. She and Harry had performed the ritual barely an hour ago and she knew everything there was to know about all three of her spouses and the things they knew.
“I guess this explains Dumbledore’s absence from breakfast today,” Harry muttered, glancing over at the professors’ table where they all sat solemnly, no doubt concerned about the mass breakout.
“Why now though?” Valerie whispered, turning to her left where Harry and Daphne gazed at her. “Voldemort is nowhere to be found. They’ve got no motivation to arrange for something so massive and risky.”
“I’ve also got a bad feeling about this,” Daphne nodded, grimacing. “Things are moving behind the scenes, Harry. I know you can feel it as well.”
“I guess we need to operate on the worst assumption there can be,” he said with a disdainful glance toward the newspaper. “That way, we won’t be surprised with whatever happens and would be prepared either way.”
“Agreed,” Fleur nodded firmly. “We have to assume Voldemort is back and has freed his dogs from prison.”
“Exactly,” Harry nodded. “How it happened... how could it happen… it’s useless to think about it. We have to do what we can, and that is to destroy that bastard’s remaining horcruxes so that I can finally put him where he belongs. With no chance of coming back again.”
The three girls exchanged meaningful glances and nodded. They all clasped their hands on the table, joining with Harry who squeezed firmly. They did indeed need to do what they could.

The news of the Azkaban breakout cast a subdued atmosphere over the castle of Hogwarts for over a day before things reverted to normal.
It was the time for the dueling tournament to begin and Harry found himself seated with Daphne, Fleur, and Valerie in the stands of the Quidditch stadium that had been modified with a covered turf and roof. The stands had also been expanded down to the ground to accommodate the sheer number of spectators from Britain and overseas who had arrived to attend the event.
It was quite a spectacle and they all were surprised to see even more students from Beauxbatons and Durmstrang arrive to participate. It seemed to embolden several Hogwarts students to put their quill to parchment as well—students who were initially undecided on whether to participate.
The roar of the crowd filled the packed stadium as students and the public alike filed into the stands, leaving no seat vacant. Ludo Bagman, the Head of the Magical Games and Sports Department, stepped up to the podium in the middle of the pitch, all smiles, and his magically amplified voice booming across the packed stadium.
"WELCOME, WELCOME ONE AND ALL!" Bagman exclaimed, his eyes twinkling with excitement. "THANK YOU ALL FOR JOINING US TODAY FOR THE DUELING TOURNAMENT, A HISTORIC EVENT BRINGING TOGETHER THE FINEST YOUNG WITCHES AND WIZARDS FROM HOGWARTS, BEAUXBATONS, AND DURMSTRANG!"
The crowd erupted in cheers, students from each school waving their house or school banners enthusiastically.
Bagman raised his hands to quiet the crowd. "AYE, AYE. I CAN SEE YOU ALL ARE VERY EXCITED, SO IT’D BE QUITE RUDE OF ME TO MAKE YOU WAIT LONGER THAN YOU ALREADY HAVE. SO LET US BEGIN, SHALL WE?”
The crowd’s enthusiasm did not diminish in the slightest. Bagman beamed, soaking in the cheers as he cast his gaze around.
“ALLOW ME TO INFORM YOU ABOUT THE TOURNAMENT FIRST. WE HAVE A TOTAL OF 512 PARTICIPANTS VYING FOR THE TITLE OF THE DUELING CHAMPION! THE ROUNDS WILL ALL BE STRAIGHT KNOCKOUT UNTIL THE FINALS, WHICH MEANS THE ROOM FOR ERROR IS NONE!"
The people kept cheering and one had to give it to Bagman. He knew how to play the crowd.
“WE WILL HAVE THE QUALIFIERS FIRST – STRAIGHT KNOCKOUT DUELS THAT WILL LAST UNTIL ONE OF THE DUELISTS HAS BEEN KNOCKED UNCONSCIOUS, SURRENDERS, OR IS OTHERWISE PREVENTED FROM CONTINUING. THAT SHALL INCLUDE LOSING ONE’S WAND TEMPORARILY. THE QUALIFIERS WILL CONTINUE UNTIL WE ARE DOWN TO THE FINAL 64 COMPETITORS. THE FINALS WILL HAVE ONE LITTLE RULE CHANGE. IT WILL BE PLAYED IN A BEST OF THREE FORMAT UNLESS ONE OF THE DUELISTS IS RENDERED UNABLE TO CONTINUE!”
The cheers were accompanied by whispers this time as the crowd discussed this new rule excitedly, speculating on its impact upon the duels that would be taking place.
“OF COURSE, TO PRESERVE THE INTEGRITY OF BOTH THE TOURNAMENTS AND TO ENSURE NO UNNECESSARY MISHAPS IMPEDE ON THE PROGRESSION OF THE TRIWIZARD TOURNAMENT, OUR CHAMPIONS – HARRY POTTER, FLEUR DELACOUR, AND VIKTOR KRUM, SHALL NOT BE PARTICIPATING IN THE DUELING TOURNAMENT!”
There was a collective groan from the crowd at the announcement, their disappointment evident. Bagman chuckled and raised his hands once again.
“WORRY NOT, MY GOOD FRIENDS! YOU ARE IN FOR A SPECTACULAR DISPLAY OF MAGICAL SKILL AND DUELING PROWESS FROM THESE TALENTED YOUNG WITCHES AND WIZARDS FROM THE OF THE FINEST WIZARDING INSTITUTIONS ON THE FACE OF THE PLANET! AS I TOLD YOU MOMENTS AGO, WE WILL HAVE QUALIFIERS FIRST UNTIL WE ARE LEFT WITH THE FINAL 64. ALL THESE MATCHUPS HAVE BEEN DRAWN AT RANDOM AND WE WILL NOW UNVEIL THE 256 MATCHES THAT WOULD FORM THE ROUND 1!”
All eyes turned to the magical screen suspended high above the stadium that flickered to life. The Hogwarts, Beauxbatons, and Durmstrang crests were displayed proudly on top, and slowly, names and images of the competitors began to appear. The crowd buzzed with excitement as they spotted familiar names.
“Who are they?” Harry’s brows furrowed as he gazed at the boys whose names appeared with Daphne and Valerie.
“The uniforms are of Durmstrang,” Daphne observed.
“Which means the duels should be more exciting,” Valerie smirked before she glanced at Fleur. “No offense.”
Fleur chuckled and waved her hand dismissively.
“Their reputation is well earned, and to be honest, I’m also looking forward to seeing what they’ll come up with.”
The arena began to morph in front of their eyes and they saw multiple mini-arenas emerge all across the covered Quidditch pitch.
“THE FIRST ROUND SHALL BEGIN MOMENTARILY. COMPETITORS FROM DUELS 1 TO 16 ARE REQUESTED TO MAKE THEIR WAY OVER TO THE DRESSING ROOM FOR PRECAUTIONARY INSPECTION. THE REST ARE ALSO REQUESTED TO MAKE THEIR WAY OVER TO THE GROUNDS WHERE THE HEALERS FROM SAINT MUNGOS ARE WAITING FOR YOUR INSPECTION. PARTICIPANTS SHOULD ALSO KNOW THAT IF FOUND GUILTY OF FOUL PLAY ANY TIME DURING THIS TOURNAMENT, YOU SHALL BE DISQUALIFIED AND YOUR OPPONENT SHALL BE AWARDED A BYE. ALL 16 DUELS SHALL TAKE PLACE SIMULTANEOUSLY IN THE 16 ARENAS YOU SEE BEFORE YOU AND WILL START IN HALF AN HOUR. GOOD LUCK, AND LET THE TOURNAMENT BEGIN!”
The crowd erupted into thunderous applause as the competitors who were asked to arrive started getting out of their seats.
Meanwhile, Harry glimpsed the numbers on the badges affixed to Daphne and Valerie’s breasts and observed that they would not be fighting until much later.
“Well then,” he remarked as Daphne and Valerie got up to leave. “Looks like you’re off for now.”
“Don’t worry, we’ll be done with it soon,” Daphne smiled and kissed him softly, followed by Valerie. The two young women beamed and left, arm-in-arm together as Fleur scooted close to him, their shoulders touching. Harry reached out and took her hand, squeezing softly.
“And then there were two,” she smiled. “Shame we can’t compete in this one.”
“Makes sense for us not to,” Harry replied as he leaned closer. “Daph and Val are overkill on their own. No need to add us into the mixer as well.”
Fleur smirked, her hot breath ghosting on his lips. “Cocky much, Mr. Potter?”
“As if you’re any better, Mrs. Potter,” he whispered, gently pecking her lips.
It was the previous night when they had finally decided on their respective house responsibilities and although they were equally involved in all the houses, they knew they needed to choose one to carry the name of. Fleur had happily accepted the name of House Potter, while Valerie accepted the Black name. Similarly, Daphne was honored to be called the Lady Peverell.
“Let’s see what these lot have got to offer,” he continued as he pulled away, acutely aware of the scores of eyes on him and his lovely veela as they displayed their affection for each other. Fleur was not one to shy away from playing her part either and like the perfect wife she was, she leaned her head on his shoulder and placed her open palm on his chest right over his heart.
Smiling contentedly, they stared at the spectacle unfolding in front of them.

Only a couple of duels had unfolded so far when Daphne and Valerie returned with amused looks on their faces.
“What’s up?” Harry asked as they took their seats, his lips quirking when they chuckled.
“It’s something else out there,” Daphne replied. “No less than thirty participants have been disqualified for using enhancing potions.”
“Really?” Fleur asked in surprise, earning a nod from the other blonde.
“And it’s from all three schools. Looks like quite a lot of students would be getting byes, and us too.”
Harry laughed just as another of the duels concluded.
“Sucks to be them, but they shouldn’t have cheated so obviously if they were going to.”
The duels progressed one after the other and Harry was a bit disappointed to discover that most were pretty unremarkable. It felt like schoolchildren playing at combat and even though they were schoolchildren, he had expected more.
A grand total of 78 duels had concluded when they were finally given leave. The event would resume the next day and as expected, Daphne and Valerie were not too pleased to have to sit on the sidelines.
“Lucky for you, I guess. Getting a free pass to the next round,” a snide voice cut in when they were back in the castle, and Harry sighed.
Davies’ eyes narrowed when he saw that they didn’t even stop and he quickly brandished his wand.
If he thought he would catch them unaware then he was sorely mistaken.
Harry sprung into action instantly, catching Davies’ spell before it could hit and deflecting it back toward him. Davies’ eyes widened as he caught the full brunt of the spell that collided with his midsection, sending him skidding back a few feet as he collided with the wall.
A collective gasp rang throughout the corridor as a few students who were also making their way back stopped in their tracks, their wide eyes affixed on an irate Harry Potter who stalked toward his struggling adversary with his glare promising pain.
“You really are an imbecile of the highest order, aren’t you?” Harry hissed as he leaned over Davies, pushing his struggling form down with his boot. “You’ve had your sorry arse kicked into the fucking ground so many fucking times and still you come for more. Tell me, you milk dribbling fucksmear. Do you enjoy humiliation so much that you keep coming back? I’d be happy to arrange something for you if you do.”
“What is going on here!?”
Harry gave a final disdainful glare to an equally glaring Davies as he took his boot off his chest, stepping back and rejoining the others.
“Davies here had the bright idea to curse me in the back, Professor. Unfortunately for him, I was faster and sent his curse back at him,” Harry replied curtly. “I believe a more permanent punishment is merited, Professor. He is making it a habit to harass me and these fine young women over here.”
McGonagall pursed her lips and turned her gaze toward a seething Roger Davies.
“That will be twenty points from Ravenclaw for spellcasting in the corridors. Mr. Davies, you will come with me.”
McGonagall turned on her heel and walked off while Davies’ lackeys scrambled over to help him to his feet. The brat shoved them away, glaring at Harry and his girls.
“Mind that glare before I mind you, you sniveling little shit rag,” Harry said disdainfully.
“You think you lot can put me down like this and I’ll take it like a little bitch, Potter?” Davies hissed. “You lot have another thing coming. Especially you, Greengrass.”
“Don’t tell me you’re so pissed cause your Daddy sent you a howler,” Daphne mock-gasped. At Davies’ narrowed eyes, she chuckled. “Wait, he really did! Now that explains why you’ve got your knickers in a twist.”
“Mind that tongue,” Harry warned before Davies could speak. “I know you’ve got no decency but you’re already in a whole lot of trouble. Wouldn’t want more of that now, would we?”
Davies kept seething as Harry sneered. “Fuck off now.”
They walked away, their wands at the ready, and all Davies could do was keep glaring at them hatefully.
“I’ll show you, fucking son of a whore,” he growled under his breath and walked away toward where McGonagall stood talking with a few people.

“Goodnight, love,” Daphne whispered as she gently kissed Harry while Valerie did the same with Fleur. She pulled back, smiling, and took the brunette’s hand gently, pulling her into the second bedroom inside the Room of Requirement.
“That imbecile is getting on my nerves now,” Valerie muttered as she stripped with Daphne following suit. Naked, the two witches slid under the covers as the room adjusted its temperature to an optimum level.
“Tell me about it,” Daphne sighed. “I thought getting Lord Davies involved would keep him in check, but it seems he’s gotten a huge blow to his ego now.”
“His father must’ve had some choice words for him if he blew the top so easily today,” Valerie muttered.
“Bloke’s a moron. I’m afraid he isn’t gonna sit quiet anytime soon.”
Valerie lay silently for a while, her mind contemplative.
“Well,” she began after a few moments. “I recall another dumb loudmouth who’s been all quiet now after he got a visit from his dear aunt.”
Daphne’s eyes gleamed as she turned to regard her sister-wife with a smirk.
“You’re sick, you know that?” She asked as she reached out, wrapping her arms around the brunette and pulling her close.
“And you all love me just the way I am,” Valerie replied huskily as the two witches pressed their fronts flush, their large tits pressing erotically against each other.
“You got that right,” Daphne whispered with a grin.
Their lips met in a fiery kiss, their legs a tangle of limbs as they caressed each other.
Meanwhile, in the other room, things had heated up considerably in the little time that had passed since their parting.
Harry’s hands cupped Fleur’s breasts and his thumbs rubbed across her nipples. The lovely veela squirmed under his touch and started to remove the pendant chain around her neck.
