"I can't believe that I will return to this place."
Kazir weakly smiled as he looked at the house. The house that he lived in for a few years. The house that he bought back when he married Cassandra.
The house looked a bit different from what he remembered. It was renovated. Based on the car that was parked in the driveway, it seemed that someone was living in the house.
Kazir and Cassandra reached an agreement where Kazir had to give the house to her just to finish the divorce. Even now, Kazir still believed that his decision was right. He knew how much his ex-wife pestered him just to acquire the house and Kazir had no time for that.
Just as he expected, Cassandra sold the house one month after their separation.
"It's been a while, huh."
Kazir looked through the window of his Mercedes Benz.
He didn't have anything to do today so he decided to do a road trip and travel around the city. He bought food in three restaurants just to kill time. He didn't have anyone to talk to since most of his acquaintances were busy, they were all adults. Kazir was also single so no love life to pursue.
While driving around, he recalled that he was close to his old house so he decided to check it out and take a look. Well, the house seemed preserved and someone was living in it.
He drove away after checking, no need to stay longer. For him, the memories he had with Cassandra were all in the past. He had no feelings whatsoever towards his ex-wife. His love, hatred, and anger disappeared as the years went by.
Still, he was happy that the house he bought and lived in for many years was still standing and being used by others.
"All my savings working on horror movies went to buying that house so it has sentimental value for me."
If the house was for sale again, Kazir might buy it just for the sake of it.
.........
......
...
May passed by just like that. Kazir already finished the production of Spider-Man 2 a long time ago. Sony-Colombia was now busy promoting the movie, releasing movie trailers on many TV stations. Posting movie posters on the billboards. Giving movie flyers to people on the streets.
Sony-Colombia spent millions just to make sure that Spider-Man 2 would be a box office hit. They knew that the scandal a few months ago would affect the box office of Spider-Man 2. They were even prepared if another scandal happened again.
"Hm, looks like Walt Disney and DreamWorks are having a shit show." Kazir was amused as he read the contents of the newspaper in his hands.
Shrek 2 was released on May 19 and it was amazing. DreamWorks realized that they found the franchise that would make them alive.
In this industry, having a franchise to make you float was the best thing to have. Even Metro Goldwyn Mayer was still alive because of the 007 franchise.
Anyway, Kazir agreed that Shrek was the biggest franchise that DreamWorks Animation ever had. It was worth billions. Shrek would be relevant even in the next two decades... Kazir knew because YouTube shorts and TikTok made a lot of memes regarding Shrek... Some people even wanted to marry Shrek for some reason.
Walt Disney didn't like it. Most of the animators of DreamWorks were from Walt Disney, they were the animators that Walt Disney fired after Pixar and 3D animation became popular.
Walt Disney didn't like that the trash they threw away had the potential to create a masterpiece. No, DreamWorks created a masterpiece. The influence of Shrek would remain for a long time.
After 15 days of screening, Shrek 2 grossed $271.15 million. This information created a buzz. These days, Shrek was the most popular movie to watch in cinemas.
Even 2 Fast 2 Furious couldn't rival it, especially when 2 Fast 2 Furious only had 850 theaters to screen the movie. By the way, 2 Fast 2 Furious also grossed $230 million after 53 days of screening. It was amazing, but nothing compared to an animated movie with a green ogre as a main character...
"Oh, looks like Tom Cruise's movies will be released next year. Damn, they really promote it a year earlier... I forgot, he gave me two advance tickets to watch the movie."
Scheduling two tickets for a movie next year was insane.
Tom Cruise gave him two tickets because he thought Angelina would be interested in watching the movie. He didn't about the breakup.
Angelina and Kazir's separation was still a secret. They stopped showing together in public and it seemed that the paparazzi started to have an idea.
Perhaps next week, paparazzi and reporters would pester him and ask him about Angelina. Kazir might have to stay in the office for the time being.
"Let's see," Kazir read the newspaper.
Tom Cruise and Steven Spielberg worked together for the second time after Minority Report.
War Of The Worlds was based on a novel written by H.G. Wells in 1898 with the same name. It was a sci-fi movie about an alien invasion.
Tom Cruise and Steven Spielberg. Two heavy hitters in the industry had worked together to create this movie. Perhaps that was the reason why the project got an early promotion by this newspaper, or perhaps it was not a paid promotion at all. Maybe the journalist just wrote an article about it.
Kazir turned to the next page and found the three-day box office results of Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban. This movie was also a heavy hitter.
"Seems like Warner Brothers are having a blast."
With no surprise, the third movie of the Harry Potter franchise grossed $93.68 million after three days of screening.
