"Let me check... It's done, huh? It looks amazing. The UI is simple and easy to use. The comment section is also not that bad, people who created an account can react to comments."
Kazir explored the new website of Grey Pictures. The internet industry was blooming despite the dot-com bubble crash that happened a few years ago.
This website was designed by him based on how websites looked in his past life. Clean, simple, and easy to use. Of course, he just showed an example but the ones responsible for programming and coding were professionals.
This website took quite a while to build, to be honest. It took two years to be finished because the internet was still a new industry with no clear rules to follow.
On the website, the news about their new upcoming projects was on the front page. People could also check their past movies by searching their titles in the search box.
Each movie had a comment section where people could say their honest opinions. Of course, there were still no comments since the website was just launched today.
Kazir decided to comment on one of the movies, he already had an account.
-- 10/10. I love the movie, I love it so much that I bought the regular and deluxe DVD versions. I watched both versions just to see the difference. Guys! I recommend you buy bought versions because they are amazing!
Deluxe DVD versions of movies were rarely hard to find in the rental section because the Deluxe edition was usually sold out as fast as possible. This happened to CCU movies all of the time. Their movies were sold out.
Kazir was personally promoting his movies on the website.
"Speaking of websites... I wonder when Facebook will be created. I heard the website will be created this year but I have no idea when."
Facebook was actually founded in February 2004, one week from now.
Knowing the potential of this website, Kazir was excited to invest in it.
He already acquired shares from Google, a 7% market rate.
After acquiring $1 billion from 20th Century Fox, Kazir diversified his investment. For every company that he recognized, he invested some of its money. It was better than letting it sit in the bank and rot. It is also a better way to protect your money from taxes. Because they couldn't tax the money that was invested in the stock market.
Kazir was also interested in Netflix but he was not adamant right now. He was just waiting for the time when Netflix started their online streaming service. That was the right moment to invest.
Financially, Kazir's life was doing well. He had no fear of losing money. He even had no idea where to spend the money. He was not a materialistic guy. Although the film library in his house was completely filled with old movies now. Ranging from silent film to black and white film, and old color film. His collection was worth more than $7 million because the films he had were authentic old ones.
Sometimes, there was a novelty in watching old movies on videotape. In the next few years, people would lose interest in the VHS technology but Kazir kept his.
He checked every movie section of the website until he reached the TV Show section. There was only one TV Show that Grey Pictures produced so far. It was the Game Of Thrones.
This TV Show had amazing ratings. Averaging of 19.28 ratings per episode. The show already aired the 9th episode three days ago and it also received great success.
Next week would be the last episode of the season. Unlike most TV Shows that had 20+ episodes per season, the Game Of Thrones only had 10 episodes for this season.
The reason was because of budget. Every episode cost them millions to create. The audience liked it so the season was already in the process of creation.
Kazir checked the comment section and he was surprised that someone had already written his thoughts regarding the show.
-- It's an amazing show! I'm excited to watch it next week!
The comment was short but Kazir could see the sincerity. He smirked.
Since season 1 was a success, and season 2 was on the way, Grey Pictures understood that they had to increase the budget.
They just break even with revenue this season but their profit next season seemed promising so Grey Pictures was not hesitant to invest more.
Naturally, the actors also got a salary increase for the next season.
Emilia Clarke's salary per episode was around $12,000. But in season, her salary per episode might be doubled. Depending on how her agent and the producer negotiate the contract.
If Kazir remembered it right, once the Game Of Thrones season 7 happened, many of the actors had a salary of $500,000 per episode, such as Emilia Clarke who played Daenerys Targaryen, and Kit Harington who played Jon Snow.
Obviously, the production studio wouldn't give them that kind of salary if the TV Show was not profitable.
The valuation of this TV Show will be around $1.5 billion once we're done... The problem is when will we end it.'
The season 8 was a disaster and everyone in the cast admitted it. They failed to deliver a wonderful ending. Kazir didn't want that to happen.
While surfing the website, his phone rang and Kazir glanced at it.
"..."
It was from Angelina.
The scandal that was currently circulating in the industry affected Kazir's reputation.
He already explained what happened to Angelina so he thought everything was going fine.
"Hey, baby, how's your day?"
He answered the call and Angelina answered back.
"Kazir, I think you should turn on your television..."
"Hm?"
Kazir raised his brow but did it anyway. Angelina was still on the phone while Kazir turned on the television in his office.
He changed the channel to a news network.
-- Breaking news. Tobey Maguire beat a reporter to death.
"..."
Kazir was speechless.
++++
[Author's Note: Yeah, I guess this is a filler chapter huh. I just want you to be ready because I'm cooking this year's(2004) plot against Kazir. This will be one of Kazir's bad years, perhaps the worst one.]
[Anyway, there's a typhoon in our country and South Luzon is affected so I guess the rainy season here.]
