Meet Kosmos + Mood Board + Angel Body Painting
🕑 Added 2021-02-27 01:23:07 +0000 UTCHello friends! Welcome back to another look into the world of my work. As you may know I have multiple projects I'm working on. Like making posts on Patreon! Or the book with Best Tardy, the Tarot Deck made entirely out of body art, concepts for Poorly Timed Games, assisting a mod team for Stardew Valley, sending merchandise and shipping, cultivating new art locally, and working on a new, independent game.
Because I'm weird, I decided to invent a new Brandon Shading technique, and apply it to every square inch of my new game world. This means that everything should feel whimsical, detailed, especially vibrant, and rich with imagination. Lighting will be important too. It adds a lot of work, but I don't actually mind! This is a very personal experience, and with Best Tardy on writing duties, I think we have the recipe for something memorable.
Before I talk more about games, I wanted to let you know I'm painting Angel tomorrow!
We've been talking about working together for months, but have waited because of Covid-19 numbers. I'm thinking about painting him similar to the art style I've been exploring with the game. He's having some migraine issues right now, but is expecting to still make it tomorrow! Fingers crossed. I'll be wearing a mask + Honeywell visor.
Ok...Let's talk Kosmos (hey he has a name now) and mood boards! I'm designing his clothing next (but since you're a patron, I'm giving you a look at his body first).
The Rex Begonia Plant, and variations of it, are a huge inspiration for the costume design for Kosmos. I have it in my head, but I haven't created it on him just yet. Best needs to the studio tonight for writing, so look forward to another update soon. <3
Are you curious what the clothing will look like now? Me too! I've done a couple variations, but keep pushing myself to create something jaw dropping. I think a fashionable outfit made out of living plants would be a great start.
According to my sources, among the various types of begonias, Begonia rex is one of the most beautiful and stunning plants. Sometimes called painted-leaf begonias or fancy-leaf begonias, these plants are known for their showy, sometimes jaw-dropping leaf coloration.
