General Update - Background Details, Index Entries, Short Commissions, May Working and a Schedule
🕑 Added 2024-05-05 06:41:11 +0000 UTCEvenin' all! Let us look at this week's goodies.
Background Characters
The Art for putting thralls in the background of the Plaza is done! I think probably I'll set it up so that they randomly appear in the background, so you get some or none at all- maybe have it be a little rare if some turn up. I also want it so that if you click on them and your implants are active, then you get some information about who they are and what they're up to-- including some additional info about their training.
The current $10 post is about that- picking out what area that info should focus on, whether at the acquisition stage, the instruction, or w/e. I feel like it'll be a nice thing for players to be able to collect!
Short Commissions
As well as the chunkier Thrallopedia commissions, I also want to offer smaller, more regular commissions in a very limited capacity, with the following options:
Background Character
You can get a character in the background of the game! If it's an existing OC of yours or an already existing character, it could be a thrall or a drone.
You can expect in this a similar layout as to the above, and get to choose whether you want the additional info to be from their acquisition with harvest team commentary, instruction with instruction commentary, auction with auctioneer commentary, or a 'contract review' session with the thrall themselves.
(In the future I want y'all to be able to make a character specific and limited to the setting, in which case you can have them as a Bondsbody, a Freestaff or an Asset. However, I've yet to set up what the additional info would be for them.)
Drone Exchange
It's back baybeeeeeeee!
Get a character into the Drone Exchange! With this you get a character in 3 colours and a lil' headshot at the side, along with some pre-scripted dialogue options, come the time the drone'll be available.
I only want a limited amount of these, as the more drones there are the more limited the text will be come the game, but for now, I'm cool with it.
Material Index
You can get a character in the Material Index! Aside from getting an image of the end-product as the thrall model of your choice, it also means you (or any future other person) can commission art of that character at a 10% discount per piece. How nice it is to have them indexed!
The cost for any of these options is going to be trialed at £30 for the forseeable, and to begin with, I'll open just 2 small slots-- first come first serve, so hit me up with a Patreon message or a DM on Discord to secure it.
Alternatively, you can opt to simply add some 'Additional Information' to an already existing Background Character for £6. (By this I mean info like you see in the right-hand box in the first of the title images with Nani.) It's a cheap option to add in more headshot images and a bit more lore, which is nice. I'll say this should be seperate from the above 2 slots, so lets say this option has 2 mini slots.
In the future, I'd like to broaden things out to wider sketches or work, but I feel those would sit in a largely different category/calibre of image if it's not something I can directly use in the Thrallworks project work.
Speaking of...
May Work
I took the last week unscheduled to do some irl things and think about how things are going. I figure rather than trying to roll forward on mechanics to attach into the game, it would be best to focus on not adding more to the pile and just solve/complete a few things already either close to completion or with work already done.
To me, a big part of that means squaring away a lot of the Movement work that was left fallow during Feb's ill-attempt at a modest game.
There's plenty of 'things' that have been made but no cohesive experience, and it's easy for me to get mad thinking about it...but it'd be better to get even. It needs finishing so I can properly focus on other things like converting the Orientation scenes into Unity, and sorting out a few issues with save-states, file-size of models, and how certain models are instantiated.
This week's schedule seems a little full-on, and it is. I don't imagine such a schedule is sustainable for maybe even more than a week, but that's ok, I just need to drive ahead and burst through some of the Moov stuff so I can dedicate that time in the morning to things that lead to more consistent TW releases.
Contest Progress
Currently, no-one's sent me anything for the contest other than 1 image of a potential cultivated thrall. You've got less than a month for your own entries!
Anyway, I think that's all I've got to say for this update! Toward the end of the month I won't have the 'net for a few days as I'm rearranging some livingspace, but other than that, cheers for your time and I hope to see you on the streams- Short Commission slots are open as of now!!
Small Slot 1 -- Open
Small Slot 2 -- Open
Mini Slot 1 -- Open
Mini Slot 2 -- Open
Enjoy!

TDL
I'm going to assume that no, it isn't, as that section should be a series of CG's. I'll check it out and see where some of the errors may be.

New Patron here, trying out the demo...is the black screen when the Jenny Thrall checks out your dick supposed to happen?
