Thrallworks Update #17: She's Getting Sleepy...
🕑 Added 2021-09-09 03:58:22 +0000 UTCI went with the hypno script rewrite, and ended up pretty happy with it!
There's some pretty nice new (animated!) art in it too. Not as much as it'll end up with, and some of it is still super rough/legacy, but that's fine. Much of the art involved is going to be the kind of asset I can re-use elsewhere, which means there's going to be a big up-front cost to producing it, but does mean/make for easier sailing down the stream.
There's a lot of that upfront stuff the project's currently tangled with, and it's all proving rather difficult to deal with. I think the main roadblock is trying to square the circle on how to make character expressions both varied/broad, but also simple to write in a script. I feel like as soon as that nut's cracked everything else will fall into place- I'll feel happier making new character assets and know how to structure them, and when the character assets exist, it makes transferring the scripts over more natural to do, and when that content's transferred over all the better to start attaching menus to it.
So I reckon a lot of this next two weeks is going to be getting at that problem. Beyond that, I'll likely be doing character roughs and some less sexually exciting 'hub world' stuff. Though I guess if I draw little drones in the hub views people will find that hot?
Also got some Dossiers to do! Busy times.
Anyway, have fun with the scene...and I guess let me know if it needs some kinda trance warnings or something! I guess there's a reason hypno tv shows skip inductions...
Enjoy!

EDIT: I hadn't actually updated the scene repository to the latest version! Whoops! That's now fixed.
Edit Edit: The route's currently bugged. I'll tell you when I've fixed it...
Edit edit edit: Ok, bug that stopped it from working is fixed!
