Some news (update 1.6.5)

The original plan for the 1.7 update envisioned a certain pool of events. Conventionally, it could be divided into two parts. But, the first half grew quite a lot in the work process. Because I didn't want to miss a chance to detail and show quite a unique situation, in which the players and protagonist have not yet been.
Then December came, I got the flu and was sick for ¾ of a month. Then there was the "pre-update" post (well, that one below). At the time, I was still thinking in the spirit that it was only half of what I had planned. But the more I work on this "first half", the more it's growing and looking more and more like a self-sufficient episode rather than a part of it.
Actually, there were two reasons I wanted the episode labeled 1.7 to be released in its entirety. The first was the strong emotional scene at its conclusion. And the second was that the only sex scene planned at the time was also in the second half.
What are we getting now?
That "strong emotional scene" is left for a future update (1.7). But even without it, the unique situations in the first half (1.6.5) are quite enough. I think so. As for the sex scene...

Anyway, I've added (or rather in the process of adding) a new sex scene to 1.6.5, the idea of which has been haunting me for a long time and which I've backed out of several times... You'll understand why when you get to it. It's hot. In several senses at once. But sooo wrong… In several senses at once.
Thus, the sex scene that was supposed to be in 1.7 from the update announcement - will be there. In the future. And on the next 1.6.5 will be a new sex scene. Or rather originally not planned to be added into the game. The lecherous muse has won. She's been whispering this scene to me for a long time. Persistently.
Expected release date of update 1.6.5
From the last days of January to the middle of February. Later is doubtful, but earlier is also doubtful. So I am oriented somewhere around this time period.
What I can tell you without major spoilers.
- 1.6.5 has the largest movement system of any part of the game before. I wouldn't say that the location where events take place is outright big, but... it's still a small achievement for me. And what a pain in the ass, in the context of coding all those movement and location-event-action interactions in a bloody text game xD
- The appearance of [something] and [somewhere] depends on random and can vary from one game to the other. Yeah, that was a hint. I'm already imagining forums fights, like:
- Where do I find [something]?
- Oh! I know, go there, there you find [something].
- I've been there. There is nothing.
- It’s 100% there! I've found [something] there!
- Oh yeah, smart ass?! I'm there now! No [something] at all!
- You *beep*! Open your *beep* eyes and look! It there!
- No you *beep* *beep* of *beep*! It is not! I tell ya!
- Yeah. This "something" can appear in different places. Has different scenes of interaction. Even the checks there are different. I rarely add random-based mechanics. But I found this idea interesting.
- Saving Private Meralion. Well, you get the point. You'll lose quite a bunch of content from the next update if he's dead in the previous one. I'd even say that without him, the intensity of the next (1.6.5 and 1.7) updates will be reduced quite a fair bit.
- A long dress is not very convenient in the middle of nowhere. But you can still try.

- Wait a second! I'm confused, so is this going to be a half update or a full update?
In the context of what I wanted and originally planned, it's a half. In the context of what I'm getting and the actual amount of content - it's a fully-fledged episode. And with each passing day, I'm leaning more and more towards labeling it as a regular update rather than a "pre-update."

Well, to some extent that's the intention. Even in the disclaimer I wrote that sex in the game is nothing more than an additional tool for immersion and drama. Overall, I'm not even sure the game fits the description of porn, where all the elements exist only to justify the sex scenes. In my case, it's more of a story with optional highly detailed sex scenes, through which I try to reveal characters or raise certain issues. However, it was naive of me to ignore the fact that many people play my game solely for the sex scenes. And the comments above are rather gratifying, showing that of those who support the game financially, there don't seem to be many of them - something to consider.

Just to echo what everyone else has been saying, I play this game for the plot. The porn is just a nice bonus :)

Well, I guess I'm worried about future and so far hypothetical situations. Like, what happens if some update is without sex scenes. The funny thing is, all updates for the foreseeable future will have them. The tricky updates in that sense are the upcoming one and the last one. There didn't seem to be any room for intimate scenes... And yet I found some space for spicy things. They even seem to be written out organically, like, grounded (believable?). Although, I guess that's not for me to judge.

Speak for myself, others can totally disagree. But I don't mind no sex scene in an update either. I primary play your game for the story. I like the world you have building so far. I like to play a female character, and how I can slowly change her so she can become stronger, more confident. I also like the mechanism of the game. Don't get me wrong, I also enjoyed steamy lewd actions ;-). But it's not the main reason why I play this game. I will even gladly exchange sex scenes with building relationship scenes. I mean scenes where we can learn more about our fellow travelers, or where it can change their point of you about Selene. Like the different scenes with Murella. Or, during the figurine game between Cadonis and Tabius, it seems that if we are smart enough to guess how the game is about to end, Tabius may see Selene as more that just a pretty girl, but a pretty girl with a brain. Anyway, a good Inner Empire update is one with a scene with our cute Ginger Pie :-)

Fears are such a thing that they are often irrational. Maybe in the future, some updates will come out without a single sex scene, just because it won't be suitable or fit or whatever. And... Nothing bad will happen. You know, like a lot of unsubscribes and angry comments. But I'm still scared to check it out. Besides, it would be a shame to abandon work on an intended scene midway through. My lecherous muse might take offense. And if anyone finds this scene excessive, there is always the option to reject it in-game. In the context of the situation, it would even be the right thing to do. If you're playing for a good girl. But if you're playing for a bad one... Oh yeah, a bad girl could definitely do something like that... Ahem, I think I better shut up before I blabber too much :)

There are far to many adult games that feel obligated to toss random sexual content at the cost of plot, character development, rpg elements, and all the other things that make the game amazing - if one section is a little less sexy, another section can be more so at some point. I think most players will understand and appreciate the greater depth and experience you are giving us all.
