Requests | Next kdrama
🕑 Added 2024-01-16 18:25:43 +0000 UTCSorry for all the posts last night, I was overthinking a lot of things. I've decided on something that I will be trying to proceed with kdramas and work my way through scheduling in the meantime.
I am looking for requests to replace Deaths Game. I'm doing the poll early because I am already finished with this show.
There are a few things I'm taking priority of with the requests, you can request whatever you want though:
Runtime: Looking for a show with not too long of runtime (under 90 min per ep/16 episodes). I'd prefer a sub 16 ep show, ~50/60 min episodes. Not only are those the stories I've been enjoying more recently, but they also allow me to get through the show at a good pace so I can shift focus to other content that you all are wanting more of. (Ideally the current 16 ep show, will be followed with another 16 ep show, will depend on both factors and engagement/viewership overall though)
Engagement: Shows that you not only want me to see, but those that you will rewatch with me as well. I watch these things because I want to see them but also to watch with a majority of you, so I'd like to double down on shows that you'll tune in for and engage with the posts. (here and youtube if a youtube version is made)
All of these will offer me flexibility to jump on anything new that may pop up.
Technically TW is recent/trendy so you can suggest another trendy/recent show or an older one.

Im late on this post but I really liked Castaway Diva. It's 12 episodes and 80 mins each, you can watch it on Netflix. I wouldn't mind watching it again, it was definitely one of my favorites that came out in 2023!!!

Newer and shorter shows: Night has come (12 eps, short episodes), Perfect Marriage Revenge (12 eps but normal length episodes), See you in my 19th life (same as PMR). Older but amazing shows: The Smile has left your eyes (16 eps, same ML as Death's Game), The World of the Married (16 eps), The Guest (16 eps, horror), Signal (16 eps), Sky Castle (20 eps).

For newer dramas I'm not so caught up unless I've watched it via reaction so I'll recommend an older fave. It's okay, that's love (16 ep, 57 min each. shorter ep counts are a bit modern/harder to find in older dramas) - this drama is pretty widely considered a cult classic/ masterpiece. It's somewhere between light and dark in that it tackles some heavy subject matter but with alot of humour and heart.

At a Distance Spring is Green is also a good one. Park Jihoon (main guy from weak hero) is the lead in it. And Big Mouth!! Okay I won't list anymore😂 there are just so many that I want you to watch!!

"Tomorrow" best grimreaper esque show I've watched. "Hotel Del Luna" ft. IU, rom about the afterlife. A must-watch imo. "Vincenzo" Best action that exists, literally a must-watch. Those are my top dramas of all time, couldn't pick one so I'll just send em all haha. Totally down to re-watch all three

Taxi Driver has won quite a few awards in Korea and I loved the series. It is two seasons but you can take a season at time. Each season is 16 episodes, each episode is 60 min max.

I'll always recommend The light in your Eyes! It just got to Netflix. And another one that I just finished that was pretty good was My Lovely Liar. My Demon is on going but that would be my third recommendation. Other people have already requested Vigilante which was pretty good!! But I'm also very Nam JooHyuk biased!!

One of my favourite dramas of the past few years is Little Women and i think you'd like it, it's a mystery thriller type of show. Episodes are around 1hr 15 though 😅

tbh the only “recent” show i’ve seen is d.p. (since season 2 came out in 2023).. for older shows, i’d definitely rewatch fight for my way, her private life, my strange hero, suspicious partner, lawless lawyer, oh my ghostess & he is psychometric with you will come back and edit my comment if i can actually think of something newer that fits your criteria 🥲

Semantic Error! I've watched it a few times as it's a comfort drama for me and it's short and sweet! About 20/30 minutes per episode and I think it has 8 or so episodes.
