It occurred to me - completely different style, but I think I’m seeing the same blending mode.
What could possibly be the connection between these two images? Difference Blend Mode.
So in this video, a quick breakdown of how this thing functions and how we can put it to creative use!

Here's something funny - I'm testing out an AI generated title for the video: "Check Out This Unusual Blending Mode That Photoshop Pros Are Loving". I would never have named something that on my own... let's see if it makes a difference :)

Great video, just looked it up. I've always just read about the formulas, but this video has some really clever visualizations. It was funny that Soft Light was the blending mode he threw in the towel on... the math is just not intuitive at all. I actually rarely use that mode, just because I can't quite understand the formula behind it and it bugs me! Thanks for turning me on to that channel!

Hey Brady, I remember watching a video from a while ago made by filmmaker IQ where he goes through the mathematical component that makes up all the different blending modes, it's really eyeopening to learn and as you showcased, I've only ever really used difference for alignment of stuff my coworker designers want me to pull into after effects. The way you explained it reminded me of the filmmaker IQ video, really clicked into place the unique function/ability difference has as a blending mode.
