Magical Spider Chapter 55

Harry let out a deep yawn as he woke up, he blinked repeatedly before looking around his room. He slowly made his way out of his bed, wincing as he felt his ribs protest, not to mention the pain that flared around his left eye. Rhino had sure done a number on him. He stood up and slowly made his way to the bathroom where he spotted himself in the mirror and grimaced at seeing the redness around his eye, thankfully it wasn't too bad, thanks in large part to his quick healing. Still, he would have to think of something because there was no way his mother wouldn't notice. At least his dad would be at Oscorp today so he'd only have to fib to half of his creators.
A couple of minutes later, he made his way into the kitchen, yawning again while idly scratching the back of his head. As he neared the kitchen he was met with the rare sight of his mother being angry with someone other than his father...or himself.
"And you can fuck off and all!" She yelled into her phone before cutting the call, her face flushed with anger. She looked up and spotted him, the look on her face changed instantly. "You didn't hear that, did you?" She asked with the barest amount of hope.
"Just the end," Harry admitted honestly. "Who was it?"
"Just another one of those scam artists," She huffed, shaking her head.
"Oh, you should have given the phone to me," Harry told her. "Dad lets me swear at them," He said proudly. The last time a person had tried to scam Norman Osborn over the phone - trying to get him to buy car insurance of all things - he had handed the phone to Harry and simply told him to 'deal with it'.
"I'll remember that next time," She said with a small smile before staring at his face. "What happened to your eye?" She asked in a worried voice as she walked over and placed her hands on his shoulders, staring at the redness around his eye like it was a small bomb.
"Skateboarding accident," He said dismissively. "Was trying to do a trick I saw on Youtube and...let's just say it didn't go well,"
"Yeah, well..." She stared at him judgingly for several moments. "...If you ever happen to have another accident like that then I'm going to take that bloody skateboard away. Now, breakfast I think, you're going to need it for school,"
"School, yay," He said as enthusiastically as he could possibly manage, which was not much.

"Oh no, not your face!" Felicia moaned as she, Harry, Gwen and Peter walked down the hallways of Midtown High. "I like your face," She pouted, gently touching his face, only to pull back when he winced. "Sorry," She said apologetically.
"Don't worry about it, I've had worse," He said, waving her off.
"How's the rest of you doing?" Gwen asked with concern.
"It feels like one giant bruise but it's healed," He answered. "That Rhino suit packs a hit, hard to believe it was made by Hammer Industries of all things."
"I did some looking in on 'Fisk'," Peter said quietly. "He's some bigshot who owns 'Union Allied Construction' and 'Fisk Industries'."
"Union Allied?" Harry asked. "I think I heard Dad mention them once to Mum, I think they did some work for Oscorp once. Hmm, anyway, what happened with Morty?"
"Somebody tried to kill him, it didn't go well," Gwen answered quietly. "Let's just say the devil of Hell's Kitchen lives up to his name. Still, we have Rhino's recordings and the rest. Morty's going to be confessing if for no other reason than to try and save his own skin. If we pair that with the recording then I don't see any way that Fisk won't be at least sent to trial."
"Do it," Harry nodded at once. "Send the recording straight to the cops, your dad as well."
"I'll do it right after school," Gwen replied.
"How much training do you have?" Felicia suddenly asked Harry. "Fight training, I mean, how much do you have?"
"Not a lot," Harry admitted. "I learnt a bit from 'D', saw a few tutorials online and that's about it. Oh, and I am learning more and more as I go out as well."
"Yeah?" Felicia drawled. "Well, I'm not having that, no boyfriend of mine is going to go out and kick ass without knowing how to do it properly. You and me, Osborn, are going to start training together."
"Sounds fun," Harry said genuinely. "What are you going to teach me?"
"Nothing much," Felicia shrugged. "Just the basics of Karate, Judo, Taekwondo, anything-you-can-do, Wing Chun and a bit of Tai Chi."
"Awesome!" Harry grinned.
"You know that much?" Gwen asked in an impressed voice while Peter gaped at her.
"I'm a Judo and Taekwondo champion," Felicia shrugged. "Besides, a lot of marital arts have similar techniques so there is a lot of crossover."
"I'm not going to lie, I'm a little turned on," Harry said with zero shame.

"Today's the day, Big Man!" Spiderman cheered as he swung to the penthouse that he knew the cops were heading to. He had intended to go there, not knowing what would happen, but knowing that the cops would potentially need help. After all, there might be more giant rhinos there, maybe even a hippopotamus or two. He wasn't sure, but he didn't want to take any chances, he'd already fought electric men and mobsters named after sharks, who knows what would happen there. He landed on a nearby building and took a moment to take in the situation.
Several cop cars were on the ground, along with various members of the press. Up high in the expensive-looking penthouse, was a man eating dinner at his table. In his hands were gold-coloured cutlery, he ate calmly as if nothing was wrong at all. The man was far from thin, he had a bit of a gut, to be honest. His head was bald as well, there was no facial hair that he could see from this distance as well. He was dressed in an expensive-looking suit as well, clearly rich. The man that was sitting next to him was the same person that Harry had seen yesterday, Wesley, who was also looking quite calm as he talked to the bigger man.
A minute or so later, the door opened and several cops walked in. Spiderman tapped the side of his head, his lenses zoomed in so he could see better. He noticed the man in front was Gwen's father, he had his badge out and a stern expression on his face. Harry tensed his body, ready to jump in as soon as anything looked remotely wrong. Only...nothing was looking wrong.
In front of him, Fisk stood up along with Wesley and very calmly waited for the officers to place the cuffs on. Spiderman couldn't help but feel like the two were far too calm for a pair of people being arrested, especially for such serious crimes. Yet they did nothing, the cuffs went on and the pair calmly walked out along with the officers. Using his enhanced hearing, he listened in.
"You seem awfully calm," He heard Gwen's father say.
"Why wouldn't I be?" Said a voice, soft and raspy, a whispery voice belonging to someone who seemed unused to talking. "I'll be out before any of you can finish filing the paperwork." He said with such boredom and confidence, that it was as if he thought he was merely stating that the sun was hot, he was stating what he thought was an undeniable fact. He would be out soon, he didn't care that the police were here.
"That's bullshit," Spiderman whispered under his breath, keeping his ears ready for any more trouble.
There was none.
Fisk and Wesley went quietly into the police car and it drove off.

Harry walked into his home, feeling disappointed, to say the least. He had put in weeks of effort, stopped multiple bad guys (not to mention the odd supervillain as well) and at the end, when the big bad behind it was arrested...he didn't care. Fisk went into that police car, knowing that he'd be out quickly. When would that be? The next day? Tonight? What would happen then? Would he have to go through the whole process again?
Letting out a deep sigh, he walked into the kitchen and filled himself up a glass of water when he spotted a note on the fridge.
Your dad and I are going to be out tonight, dinners in the fridge.

"Hmm," Harry frowned before pulling out his phone and seeing that his mother had sent him a similar text a few hours before. He let out a deep breath before gulping down his water. He decided to head to his room and take off his suit before anything else, as he was still wearing it under his clothes. He got into his room, only to freeze when he spotted someone standing there, gazing out of his window.
A six-foot-two man with dark skin and a bald head stood there, dressed in a black trenchcoat. He turned around and Harry got a better look at him, he was wearing black shoes, trousers and a black jumper with a bulletproof vest. underneath it. He had a gun holster on his hip, complete with a gun. His left eye was covered with a black eyepatch, one that didn't completely cover the scars that peaked out of it.
"Mr Osborn," The man said in a smooth voice. "We need to talk," He said, sounding like he hadn't just broken into somebody's bedroom.
"Um...I...I don't know who you are, but if you're not out of my room in ten seconds then I'm going to call the police," He threatened, pulling out his phone. All while keeping his spider-sense on high alert in case of any surprise attacks.
"Really?" The man asked amusedly.
"Yeah, I think a big man breaking into my bedroom at night is enough cause for arrest," Harry replied dryly.
"What about swinging around the city on spider webs?" The man asked lightly, causing Harry to freeze. "Is that a good enough cause for arrest?"
"I don't know what you're talking about," Harry said instantly.
"Sure you don't," The man scoffed. "Let's not play games here, 'Spiderman', you know exactly what I'm talking about."
"Look buddy, I'm a teenager, haven't you noticed the fact that it's 'SpiderMan'," Harry replied with a shake of his head. "You're crazy and if you don't get out of here then I'm calling the police," He threatened.
"That worked well with Fisk, huh?" The man asked, walking over to Harry's desk and taking a seat.
"Oi, no! Get the hell out of my chair!" Harry snapped furiously.
"Do you know who I am, Mr Osborn?" The man asked lightly. "I am Nick Fury, Director of 'The Strategic Homeland Intervention, Enforcement and Logistics Division'."
"That's a long-ass name," Harry frowned. "What does that have to do with you sitting in my favourite chair?"
"We also go by 'Shield' for short," Fury continued. "The principle S.H.I.E.L.D. was founded upon was pure, simple but pure."
"Animal rights?"
"Protection. One word. Sometimes, to protect one man against himself. Other times, to protect the world from threats that they don't even know about. It's a broad job description, but it's what Shield is for. Our goal is to protect people," Fury told him seriously. "Do you know that -"
"You're still in my chair," Harry cut in with an annoyed voice. Fury let out a deep sigh before getting out of the chair, giving Harry an annoyed look in return.
"Now, if I may continue?" He drawled.
"I'd prefer you didn't to be honest," Harry responded.
"Shield is an American extra-governmental counter-terrorism and intelligence agency tasked with maintaining both national and global security," Fury continued, ignoring the sour look that Harry was giving him. "Founded by Chester Phillips, Peggy Carter and Howard Stark in the wake of the Allied victory over the Axis powers and HYDRA during World War II, Shield was organized to protect the United States from all possible threats. With its advanced weapons and extraordinary agents, Shield is maybe the greatest military power on Earth."
"Dude, get to the fucking point and get out of my room," Harry told him.
"Like I was saying, our job is to protect the United States from possible threats, all possible threats," He said, giving a pointed look to Harry.
"You think I'm a threat to the United States?!" Harry asked incredulously. "I'm just a kid,"
"Bullshit," Fury snorted. "Stop pretending, I know who you are, enough of the games, Osborn."
"Fine then," Harry glared at him. "If Shield is so good, then where were you when Electro and Rhino were running havoc?"
"We can't be everywhere,"
"Tombstone and Fisk were around for a long time, you didn't do shit with them,"
"And you did?" Fury asked, raising an eyebrow. "You were ineffective against Fisk, might as well have thrown a snowball at him for all the good you did. How long do you think he'll stay in jail, huh?"
"Maybe not a long time, but at least I brought him into the light," Harry growled. "Now, everyone's watching him."
"He's rich, people were already watching him, you did great against Tombstone as well, yeah? Where is he?"
"He died, died during that factory explosion,"
"Did he?" Fury asked. "Because I didn't see a body, did you? What about his men?"
"His men? What are you..."
"We managed to get footage of the fight from an old security camera, you swung in and fought Tombstone and hadn't even noticed his men getting cut down, or did you just not care? Huh?" Fury asked him, walking over and stopping in front of Harry. "Your heart is in the right place, you've done a lot of good as well, stopped a lot of bad guys. But you're untrained, you can do more. Captain America was the first superhero, but not the last. He's also not the last person to gain powers, in case you haven't noticed, the world is getting stranger more and more, each and every day there is a new threat. We are putting out fire after fire. We need good men, but there are times when men, no matter how trained, are not enough. You're doing good, Spiderman, but with my help, with the help of Shield, you could be doing so much better. You are not the first person with powers that we've helped. I have a whole team of powered individuals, individuals who like you want to help the world. A team that I want you on."
"You know that saying about things that sound too good to be true?" Harry asked lightly, taking a step back. "That's what's going through my head right now,"
"Good," Fury nodded approvingly. "You're thinking, that's good, that's what you need and that's what Shield needs. Constant vigilance will keep you alive," He said, Harry blinked hard as he stared at the one-eyed man and wondered what would happen if he had introduced this guy to Mad-Eye. Fury pulled out a small note and passed it to Harry. "Go to this address, two days from now at ten in the morning. You don't trust me? Good, come and take a look, see for yourself." He said, he patted Harry on the shoulder before walking past him.
"Wait," Harry said suddenly, causing Fury to stop right as he reached the door. "How did you get in here? And how did you know who I am?"
"You're talking to a superspy, kid," Fury smirked before walking out of the room.
Harry stood still, not moving a muscle while listening as Fury went all the way down, he listened even as Fury made his way out of the building and drove off. Once Fury was gone, Harry took a deep breath and looked around the room, before spotting the spider that had taken to living in the corner of his room. A smile appeared on his face, the spider was a surprisingly good security system for those who could understand them. Harry made a mental note to start looking through not just his room, but the whole apartment, not wanting to risk the superspy leaving any spying devices.
A frown quickly appeared on Harry's face as he thought of something, he rushed to his desk and saw that his notebooks had been moved, Fury had looked through his notes. Harry's face turned red and a growl escaped from him, now he was pissed. His magical spider hummed, almost questioningly.
'Don't worry about it,' Harry told him mentally with an angry look on his face. "Fury's going to learn what happens when you mess with a pissed-off spider, especially one that had spent many years learning from Fred and George.'

A.N: I know the scene with Fisk was short, but I promise that it is not the last time. Also, I am picturing the same Fisk and Wesley from the Daredevil TV show, even though I think the PS4 one had the best overall look.

The versions from the daredevil TV show were pretty great, and Iβm not too familiar with the PS4 versions, though. I like that he was very suspicious of the spy organization, showing that his previous life does have some effect on his current outlook on things. I think the other comment made a good point, in regards to the safety of his family, it might be nice to mention some precautions there. Maybe he could gift his mother and father with a necklace and a watch, but itβs a portkey. If he could figure out how to make them lol. If not, maybe some form of magical shielding that creates a portal behind them to a safe place. Anyway, once again, thanks for another enjoyable chapter.
