Magical Spider chapter 51

Harry let out a small groan as he got up from his bed and turned off his alarm clock, he might have healed fast but it still took a while and Electro sure packed a punch, he'd definitely be feeling the after-effects today, maybe even the rest of the week. Looking up, he saw his magical spider pal at his desk, looking down at his laptop. Occasionally, one of its legs would gently tap one of the buttons. It was a great thing that the spider was basically connected to Harry's mind, allowing it to know how to operate the laptop as easily as he could, it meant that Harry could at least attempt to get a good night's sleep.
Looking down at the satanic creation that was the alarm clock (how else would you describe something designed to disturb people's sleep?), he saw that he was mostly successful, he had managed about six and a half hours. But unfortunately, he couldn't get any more as he had to be in school soon. The first thing he did was head into the bathroom, after a quick morning routine, he came back to his desk.
"Sup?" Harry yawned as he walked over to the spider. "How's the spider-bot doing?" The spider hummed in a way that Harry mentally translated as 'okay'. "Anything important happened?" A quick and sharp nod told him that yes, something important had definitely happened. "Shit," Harry sighed. "Alright, pull up the footage, let's see what we're working with."
"Harry, breakfast is ready," Emily called, causing Harry to amend his statement.
"Pull it up after breakfast,"

Harry walked into his science class and took his seat, Gwen and Peter sat down with him as usual. Felicia had also arrived at around the same time and made a beeline for him, plopping herself right down into his lap and leaning against him, tucking her head in between his right shoulder and neck.
"I am so tired," She groaned, most of the class started looking at them. She smiled at Harry cheekily before calmly speaking again. "You sure know how to show a girl a good time, Osborn, I could barely sleep" She grinned as many people began whispering.
"Felicia Hardy, you are incorrigible," Harry said, sounding more resigned than anything else.
"You're welcome," She smiled, snuggling against him. "You have anything important to tell me?" She whispered to him.
"Oh yeah," Harry snorted. "That's an understatement," He told her. "I'll tell you after school,"
"Looking forward to it," She smiled brightly before kissing his cheek.
"Damn, Osborn gets all the luck," Flash stared at the two of them.
"Flash!" Liz hissed.
"Oh, I assure you, Thompson, I'm the lucky one," Felicia told them with a mischievous grin. "Alas, I don't know if I can continue like this, he's simply too much man for me. Hmm, what about you, Gwen?" Felicia asked innocently. "Perhaps you'd like to tag in with me?" She offered straight-faced, Gwen blushed slightly, giving Felicia a look that quite clearly said that Felicia was not as funny as she thought.
"Damn, he really does get all of the luck," Flash muttered.
"Flash!" Liz glared at him.
"Settle down, class," Mr Adams said as he walked into the classroom. He looked around and sighed when his gaze landed on Felicia. "Miss Hardy, the school provides you all with seats for a reason," He said, looking a hair's breadth away from rolling his eyes.
"Can't I stay in this seat?" Felicia pouted. "It's much more comfortable,"
"Unfortunately, no, no you cannot," Mr Adams told her. "Please take another seat, one that isn't already occupied by someone." Felicia stood up with a sigh before heading over to the nearest available seat.
"Why does everyone always insist on spoiling my fun?" She cursed under her breath.

"So, this is my first time coming to your place," Felicia said as she exited the elevator along with Harry, Gwen and Peter. "Anything I should know about your parents? They seemed nice enough the last time I met them."
"They're the nicest people on Earth," Harry told her.
"His father makes people crap their pants," Peter stated bluntly. "His mother is pretty nice though," He couldn't help but add.
"Also, don't steal anything from here," Harry told her. "Father's security system makes state-of-the-art systems look lame, between him and me, we'll find out pretty easily."
"Careful, Osborn, I might start to think you're challenging me," She said, though truth be told she would be doing her best to keep her kleptomaniac self under control, if for no other reason than as appreciation for the trust he was showing in her by letting her come to his place, knowing who she was.
"Merely humbly requesting you don't steal from your boyfriend or his beloved parents," Harry replied sincerely.
"Fine, I promise I won't steal anything," She told him.
"Thank you," He gave her a cheeky grin as they walked into the penthouse. Felicia couldn't help but whistle as she looked around, she instantly regretted promising not to steal. Everything from the damn wall decorations to the TV looked ridiculously expensive, she saw Harry still grinning at her and she gave him her most fierce glare, the asshole knew what he had been doing, that was for sure.
"Harry," Emily walked over to greet them. "I see you've brought your friends with you. It's nice to see the two of you again. Ah, and this lovely lady is one I won't forget, good to see you again, Felicia. I take it my son hasn't chased you away yet,"
"No, Mrs Osborn, even if he does make it extremely tempting sometimes," Felicia answered in a polite voice, sending Harry another glare.
"The Osborn boys will do that," Emily told her with a deep sigh. "Some days you'll want nothing more than to wack them across the head as hard as you can,"
"Love you too, Mum!" Harry chirped.
"As well you should," Emily nodded somberly before turning to Felicia. "Anyway, are you hungry, dear? I'm making food, do you have any dietary requirements? Vegan? Lactose intolerant?"
"Um...I'm fine with anything, but it's really not necessary," Felicia replied, suddenly feeling very awkward.
"Nonsense, it's my pleasure," Emily insisted. "Give me a bit and I'll come up with something for all of you,"
"Thanks, Mum, we'll just be in my room," Harry told her with a smile before he and the other three headed to Harry's room.
"Your mother cooks your food for you?" Felicia asked as soon as they closed the door, she dropped her school bag in a corner like the other three did and took a look around the room. "You guys don't have a personal chef or something?" She asked, sounding more confused than anything. Her own mother had likely never cooked a single dish in her life, she wasn't as rich as the Osborns and yet she insisted on either eating in high-up restaurants or from the plates made by her personal chef.
"Father offered but Mum insists on cooking and cleaning the whole place by herself," Harry revealed as he plopped himself into his chair. "Come here, you'll want to see this," He said, starting the laptop.
"Does this have to do with Hammerhead?" Felicia frowned, walking over and leaning on top of Harry, wrapping her arms around his neck while the other two stood on either side.
"Yep," Harry said with a frown. "You're going to want to pay close attention to this," He said before a video started playing on the screen.
The video was of a prison cell, the footage being shot from under the bed. It showed the back of two legs in a prison suit, the owner of said legs was obviously sitting on the bed. Standing a short distance in front of him were a pair of black shoes and dark blue trouser legs, belonging to some sort of officer or perhaps prison guard. There wasn't much else to see as the room was bare besides the toilet, desk and chair. The only other thing of importance was the thick metal door behind the officer.
"So, what's the story?" A voice said, Felicia reckoned it was coming from the guard.
"Not much story to tell," A different voice said. Felicia stiffened, recognising it instantly, it confirmed what she already knew, the prisoner was indeed Hammerhead. "I was handling some personal business when the Spider came around and decided that my business is his business. Little punk just got lucky, that's all,"
"Yeah right," Felicia scoffed. "He's just pissed that he called the closest thing he had to Zeus and still lost,"
"Is that all?" The guard asked doubtfully. "Nothing else you want to mention?"
"What is there to talk about?" Hammerhead asked impatiently. "You want to hurry up with getting me out? I got business to sort out. Business with the 'Big Man', you understand?"
"I understand the situation better than you do," The guard said, sounding irritated. "When you were caught, there was a giant note attached to you."
"A note? What note?" Hammerhead sounded undoubtedly confused.
"A note that said 'a gift for the Big Man'," The guard told him, pausing for a second. "And then there was the drawing of a butt," Gwen paused the video and stared at Harry, raising an eyebrow.
"I've been a bad boy," Harry shrugged, unashamed. A look that was half amused and half exasperated appeared on Gwen's face before she unpaused the video.
"You what?" Hammerhead asked slowly.
"You heard me right the first time, hard head. You told the spider about the big man?!" The guard hissed.
"I did no such thing!" Hammerhead denied. "He must have found out on his own!"
"Fat chance," The guard said disbelievingly. "You knew the rules and you blabbed, didn't you?"
"Who the hell do you think you're talking to?!" Hammerhead demanded, standing up from his bed quickly. "I've worked with the Big Man for years! I know the rules better than you do! I ain't no snitch!"
"Yeah, then why does he think so then, huh?" The guard replied. "He's given orders,"
"Are you kidding me?!" Hammerhead yelled angrily.
"As thanks for your years of service, he's offering you a choice," The guard told Hammerhead. "Take a pill on your own or go out the hard way,"
"Screw you!"
"So be it," The guard said in a resigned tone before heading to the door, he walked out before shutting the door behind him. "Extraction!" The guard had yelled.
"You son of a bitch!" Hammerhead rushed to the door and began hitting it repeatedly. "You think you can do this to me?! You're going to be nothing but a cautionary tale when I'm done!"
"Inmate! Step away from the door! Get on the floor!" Yelled a different voice.
"Bring it you sons of bitches!" Hammerhead roared, stepping back and taking a fighting stance. A second later the doors opened and revealed several heavily armoured guards resembling SWAT officers, holding large riot shields and police batons. Hammerhead yelled and charged towards them, knocking a good few of them back before the others jumped on him, it took some time but eventually, they were able to wrestle him to the ground. "Get offa me!" Hammerhead screamed. "Get off!" The guards had all piled on top of him, holding him down to the ground as he cursed and screamed repeatedly.
"This is getting kind of intense," Peter shifted, looking uncomfortable, yet he couldn't stop watching.
"You brought this on yourself," The guard from earlier said, kneeling down and tossing a pill into Hammerhead's mouth before he forced it shut.
"Holy shit!" Gwen gasped, the guard had finally knelt down enough for a good look at his face. "I know that guy! That's Morty! I met him before at one of Dad's police events."
"What? Really?" Harry blinked.
"Yeah, he seemed so nice then," Gwen said, looking sick. "He has a son that's half our age, how could he do something like this?"
"What you see isn't always what you get," Felicia said, gaze fixed on the screen where the video showed the guards dragging Hammerhead out of his cell. "Most of us wear our real masks in public, it's when we're out of sight that we can be ourselves."
"I know, you're basically talking to Spiderman's tech support," Gwen sighed. "But still...that is not a pleasant surprise." She said, looking sick. "What are we going to do now?"
"Simple," Harry replied. "Send this video to every news publisher we can think of and then the police,"
"Send a copy directly to my dad," Gwen added, looking decidedly more pissed off than Harry could ever recall her looking. "I want him to see this, he has to know."
"We'll do it," Harry told her. "Don't worry, Gwen, they're not getting away with this."
"They'd better not," The blonde muttered. "Still, what are we going to do after that?"
"Keep an eye on Mr 'Morty' over here," Harry replied. "Whoever's in charge will be going after him now to make sure he doesn't speak, one way or the other."
"Find them and follow them to the big man," Felicia hummed. "Okay, good plan, but forgive me for asking the stupid question, why?"
"What do you mean 'why'?" Peter frowned.
"I mean 'why' are you doing this?" Felicia asked. "The 'Big Man' is not really your problem, you could just leave him for the police, you know, so why help?" She said, more curious than anything.
"Because none of us can really live with ourselves knowing that we could have stopped people from getting hurt and didn't do it," Harry replied. "I've seen what happens when people brush aside other people. I've seen people who would happily cause the suffering of those who have done nothing to them, I've seen people let other people suffer and die. And I never want to see it again. These people are out here destroying lives for their own gain. I can't and won't sit back like everyone else has done."
"Me too," Gwen agreed.
"Me three," Peter added, raising his hand. Felicia stared at the three of them for several seconds before she shook her head and smiled.
"Me four, I guess," She shrugged. "I'm in,"
"You what?" Harry blinked.
"I'm in, I want to help and be part of this little team of yours," She told him. "It's far more interesting than anything I've got planned, besides, I do kind of owe you. Without you, my family and I might just be fish food right now."
"You don't owe me anything," Harry said with a small shake of his head.
"I still want to help," Felicia smirked just before a knock was heard on the door, Harry quickly shut his laptop before the door opened and his mother's head popped in.
"I made pizza!" She announced with a smile.
"Now, I'm definitely in," Felicia told Harry firmly.
