Chapter 5: In love?
🕑 Added 2025-04-12 03:59:18 +0000 UTCGood sleep can ensure sufficient physical training the next day.
Menachel also understood this simple truth, but he couldn’t fall asleep anyway.
Although Kai’s snoring accounted for a part of this.
But the main reason was the complicated thoughts that kept flashing in his mind.
Tomorrow will be the time to say goodbye.
- You are too weak, you can’t even beat Artoria.
Merlin’s words echoed in Menachel’s ears.
Although Merlin’s words were very straightforward, it was a fact. In terms of muscle strength and explosive power, Artoria was stronger than him. Coupled with her not inferior swordsmanship, she could even fight back and forth with Merlin, the ceiling of combat power.
Perhaps for her, what she lacked was only the sword and the precipitation of time.
Menachel glanced at the sleeping girl. He didn’t understand what kind of country would force such a girl to become king.
He threw a piece of wood into the fire to prevent the flames from being blown out by the night wind.
“Aren’t you still asleep?”
Menachel’s shoulders shook and he subconsciously jumped to the side.
“The reaction is good, but the awareness of reconnaissance is too poor.”
Turning back, he saw Merlin’s face. He sat down next to Menachel.
“Teacher Merlin, you can’t sleep either?”
Merlin did not answer his question directly. His eyes drifted elsewhere, but never fell on Menachel.
“I’m worried that you won’t sleep in the middle of the night, and you can’t help but be lonely and attack the sleeping Artoria!”
“What are you talking about!” Menachel’s face suddenly turned red, and his body seemed to be hot and steam was coming out. After shouting, Menachel immediately reacted, glanced at Artoria guiltily, and said in a low voice: “I’m not a lolita control or anything.”
Seeing that the girl was still sleeping, Menachel was relieved.
“Don’t worry, I’m the only one who can hear your voice here.”
Menachel curled his lips. I don’t know when the old man Merlin secretly used magic.
“In this era, there are pure dragon species, right in this utopia.”
“You three can barely defeat the earth dragon together, and the pure dragon species is much stronger than the earth dragon.” Merlin also followed his gaze to look at Artoria, Merlin chuckled: “That’s why I said that Artoria, who has the blood of the red dragon flowing in her body, is a natural knight.”
Possessing strength and physique far beyond that of humans, this is the natural advantage of the dragon bloodline.
Merlin repeatedly emphasized Artoria’s life experience. He could clearly see the loss of Menachel, but Merlin would not comfort people, so he could only find another way.
“So Menachel, you…”
“I will do it.” Menachel’s eyes did reveal a highlight: “Next time we meet, I will definitely do it.”
When he met Artoria again, he, Menachel, must defeat the dragon species.
He would not give up. She gave him the only reason to survive, and he would give her everything.
The old magician blinked his eyes. Merlin didn’t know that his “comfort” made Menechel completely misunderstand his meaning. He looked at Menechel who suddenly cheered up, feeling a little puzzled. He didn’t know how to deal with the words that were already on his lips.
“In fact, you are not the first person rescued by Artoria. Before you, she always brought bread to share with the hungry refugees outside.”
Menechel raised his head and looked at Merlin, only to find that Merlin was also looking at him.
“However, what you have done is not just gratitude.” Merlin curled his lips and said in conclusion: “Young man, you are in love.”
“In love?”
Menachel was stunned for a moment, and then his face immediately turned red. He opened his mouth and wanted to defend himself, but was interrupted by Merlin.
For this reason, even if they were separated temporarily, it was acceptable!
Merlin smiled and changed the subject. He turned his eyes to the side, where he made and distributed the knight’s standard sword to Menachel.
“Are you ready?”
“Teacher Merlin, the sooner the better.”
Not only did Artoria have to seize the time to improve her reputation, but Menachel also had to make full use of the time.
In layman’s terms, they could work together to defeat the earth dragon. The three of them had successfully “graduated” from the utopia. Kai and Artoria chose to go to the outside world for “internship”, while Menachel chose to stay here for "further study".
“Bring the sword here.”
Merlin said softly, and suddenly he seemed to notice Menachel’s expression and couldn’t help laughing.
“No need to be so vigilant. I won’t take the sword back. I’m just enchanting it. Otherwise, you’ll move and be expelled from here as soon as I leave.”
“I didn’t say anything.” Menachel turned his head and pretended to be indifferent and handed over the knight’s sword.
Merlin gently stroked the hilt of the sword. The blade was kept very clean, which showed that Menachel cherished the sword very much except when he used it.
He noticed Menachel's burning eyes, but didn’t care and returned the sword to him.
“Okay?”
“Okay.” Merlin was a little puzzled, not knowing why the other party suddenly asked this.
Menachel narrowed his eyes. He suspected that teacher Merlin was teasing him. Just now, from the time Merlin took the sword to the time he returned it, Menachel didn’t even blink his eyes. But Merlin didn’t even chant a spell, and even the light of magic didn’t show.
“What kind of look is that?” Merlin took out the prestige of a teacher and suppressed Menachel with a slap.
Feeling the fragrance of the grass, Menachel, who was lying on the ground, resisted in vain, and silently added another condition for “graduation” in his heart: he must defeat one of Mr. Merlin’s hands.
Suddenly, he felt that this goal was more difficult than defeating the dragon.
“Sleep well tonight.”
Merlin suddenly heard such a voice above his head, which made Menachel feel uneasy. Then infinite sleepiness surged into his brain, and darkness swallowed up all his vision.
Merlin moved Menachel back to Kai’s side, and there was silence for a long time.
“He is asleep, you can talk.”
Artoria opened her eyes, her face was a little red, but fortunately it was not obvious under the firelight.
“What do you think of the conversation just now, Artoria?”
Merlin narrowed his eyes, making it difficult to see his expression.
“Teacher, is it really okay to let him stay here alone?” Artoria seemed to be deliberately avoiding something.
Merlin saw it, but did not say it.
“It’s okay. With his body, staying here is the best choice.”
Merlin seemed to say something else, but Artoria didn’t hear it clearly. The girl just whispered softly as if she was upset:
“Are you in love?”
