Chapter 37: Suppresion
🕑 Added 2025-04-20 12:24:52 +0000 UTCFortunately, Lanmarok was a generous man, and after the temporary “veterinarian” Merlin diagnosed and confirmed that there was nothing serious, he reluctantly accepted Menachel’s apology and did not part ways with Menachel for the sake of the overall situation.
This made Menachel, who was the party in the wrong and the person involved, feel a little embarrassed.
But Menachel had put all these insignificant little things behind him. In order to deal with the rebellion that would inevitably break out again in the near future, what Menachel urgently needed to do now was to quickly take control of the knights under his command.
From Menachel’s outstanding record of annihilating his own knights twice, it can be seen that this annihilation engine has only learned how to fight the enemy during his long wandering career in the utopia, and knows nothing about other aspects.
But after Lanmarok’s reminder, Menachel, who had no idea at first, suddenly had an idea.
“I said, can you really do this?”
Lanmarok stood beside Menachel and asked in a low voice. Then he seemed to suddenly realize that his words were inappropriate and immediately added: “If you die, it will be difficult to explain to the king.”
At this time, Menachel, who was feeling guilty towards Lanmarok, had difficulty suppressing his desire to fight back and could only say dryly, “Believe in my strength.”
Lanmarok, who had some conflicts with Menachel, immediately withdrew. He stood as far away from Menachel as possible, and fell into deep thought as he looked at Menachel after he took off his hard armor.
Although he had heard rumors that Menachel could defeat a thousand enemies alone, Lanmarok felt that at least half of this strength of “one against a thousand” was due to the opponent’s armor and weapons.
But at this time, Menachel gave up these two advantages as if to prove that “he was strong, not his weapons”. He entered the training ground wearing only the most ordinary soft armor and holding an ordinary rapier, while his opponents were more than two hundred knights on war horses.
As far as open fields are concerned, the individual combat capability of a mounted knight is inherently stronger than that of an infantry knight. However, in Lanmarok’s impression, Menachel does not seem to have any experience fighting against mounted knights. After all, riding a horse becomes an obstacle in the complex terrain of the outer city.
Although each knight’s weapon was covered with a soft cushioning layer, the collision of the horses alone was enough to kill people – could it be that Menachel was going to continue to perform the “magic” he used on his white horse yesterday?
Thinking of this, Lanmarok, who was wearing a head armor, frowned and looked at the situation in the field. The visual impact caused by the charge of nearly 300 knights was huge, and the dust and huge noise raised by the horses’ hooves alone were enough to scare people.
Not as good as a dragon.
Menachel thought casually. He ignored Mr. Merlin’s advice to take care of himself. Red and black arcs of electricity flashed on the surface of his body bit by bit. He felt a bloating and his skin exposed outside the soft armor was gradually stained with a light black color. Different from the charred black color caused by high temperature burns, this color was closer to night.
Menachel had never forgotten that Merlin had once said that it was impossible for him to successfully perform even the simplest magic with his physical condition, so he was very clear that his posture was not “releasing magic power” in the traditional sense.
He had once experienced this state carefully during his convalescence. It was closer to “exploitation” than “release”, destroying body tissues in exchange for a brief burst of power and magic. However, Menachel’s body was a magical physique that could be repaired automatically by magic.
In the end, Menachel found a shortcut entrance as if he had found a bug.
But at this time, Menachel did not want to suppress the mere two hundred knights by force. What he wanted was “God’s will”. In his shallow and almost negligible official consciousness, as the acting leader who killed the original leader of the knights, only the chosen one could restrain them once and for all.
Under the stimulation of pain, Menachel’s muscles tensed uncontrollably, and a ferocious smile appeared on his face due to the intense stimulation. The sound of horse hooves was getting closer and closer, and Menachel could even feel the heat wave with a strong fishy smell coming towards him.
Everything in the field of vision began to slow down. The horse’s hoof seemed to be stretched to countless moments from being raised to falling. The blood-red pupils were also stretched, almost becoming vertical pupils.
But it was in this strange state that the red and black magic power began to spread around, and the aura belonging to the phantasmal species that was originally only around the surface of the body spread around along with electric arcs.
The knights who had only received normal training on horseback were so frightened by the strange scene that they hurriedly used the weapons at hand to protect their faces. The electric arcs quickly passed through layer after layer of cavalry, so the knights who had entered the first level of alert were horrified to find that they seemed to be fine.
But suddenly, the horses suddenly rushed forward in layers like a spreading plague, and remained in a kneeling position and trembled as if threatened by a superior predator.
The knights who were still charging were thrown away by the sudden backstab of their mounts. Menachel simply dodged a few knights who were rushing towards his position.
He dropped the broken sword in his hand, which was only used for decoration, bit by bit. The sharp fragments cut through the gauntlet but could not even pierce the skin of his right hand. The howling sounds around him continued. The knights who fell from the high-speed horses had temporarily lost their ability to fight.
On the other side of the martial arts arena, the deputy who did not participate in the charge and was sitting in the rear, or rather the former deputy, stared at this weird scene of the “Hundred Horse Pilgrimage” with his mouth wide open in disbelief, but from his trembling body, it can be seen that he was shocked by this scene that seemed like a natural disaster.
It would probably be more effective if some blood could flow.
“How about it.”
Menachel looked at Lanmarok, who was walking towards him at a leisurely pace, and raised his head with a disdainful smile. He did not look at the only surviving former deputy. Although the opponent’s horse was still standing stubbornly due to the distance limit, it was probably unable to charge.
“You are so brave that you dare to put into practice today the ability you discovered yesterday. You are not afraid of making mistakes.”
Although he had expected it, Lanmarok still couldn’t help but make a sarcastic remark.
Menachel smiled but said nothing. How could he have only used it once? He had practiced it countless times. After Lanmarok left, the white horse that was still recuperating with Teacher Merlin began to tremble when it saw Menachel.
And this was the real reason why Menachel felt guilty when he saw the ignorant Lanmarok.
