The end of December is approaching and the year 2024 is almost over.
This year has flown by and I have been able to complete a major update.
I am now working every day to complete the art book for 2.

As I mentioned in my last letter, the work on the art book begins with the setting drawings.
It's where you can see the front and back of each character.
I was able to finish drawing the monsters in the first labyrinth, although it is taking more time and effort than I expected because the designs of the monsters in the second are more detailed than those in the first.
The process of drawing each monster design again from the first labyrinth and then materializing the back view as well, I feel like I am reliving the production of SxM2, which makes me nostalgic.
Of all the monsters I designed for the First Labyrinth, the two that stand out in my mind are Alligator and Oberon.
I try to create distinctive silhouettes when drawing characters, and this is especially true of Alligator.
I think the collar, which boldly reproduces the head of a crocodile, turned out to be quite an interesting shape myself.
In addition to the silhouette, I added bright colors as accents to some of the crocodile leather to make the painting stand out in terms of color impression.
I tried to give a fantasy feel to Oberon's design with clothes that do not look like clothes.
As a jacket, it is made of asymmetrical draped fabric, while the arms and trousers are designed to look like transparent lace fabric.
And I decorated them with vines and flowers as accents.
Since he is a labyrinth boss, I decided to include a detailed design, so I clothed him in many colorful flowers,
and combined with the large butterfly wings, I like the design, which I think is very fairy king-like.
At this rate, I hope to continue working steadily to complete the art book next year.
I plan to show Christmas illustrations in four days and New Year's illustrations at the beginning of the new year, so please look forward to those as well.

This is Ice Soda from the candy monsters.
This monster, based on the motif of a refreshing soda-flavored ice cream bar, looks great in winter.
This monster is similar to the previous Ice Sword in that it can shape ice at will, but this one can manipulate ice in the form of accompanying limbs.
Since it can quickly transform its shape, it can move around on ice skates and only changes its shape to that of an ice bar when it is time to attack.
The design of the outfit has a slightly mechanical feel to it, in keeping with the theme of the third labyrinth.

This is Principality from the angel monsters.
Angels are perfect for the holy night.
Principality is a cool-looking monster among angel monsters.
He flies high into the sky and fights by attacking enemies from the air.
In keeping with this image, his pose in the game is an easter egg for those who know it.
New angel monsters were added in 2 as well, giving you more options.
It might be interesting to form a party with only angels.

I'm absolutely loving these drawings, Satoh! The first labyrinth monsters are all super cute, and the ones you showed here for the art book look amazing!
