It is the rainy season in Japan, a dreary and rainy season. And once it ends, summer begins.
It has been another fast-paced half year, and I have spent every day drawing illustrations for updates.
Now that that work is finally finished, I am ready to move on to creating scenes in the game.

Following the defeat scenes, I was able to complete the illustration for the master-disciple scene.
The master-disciple scenes will allow you to enjoy the relationship between the partners of the previous game and the partners of this game.
Since their private conversations were not shown much in the main story, I think you will enjoy their relationship more deeply in the master-disciple scenes.
And in the master-disciple scenes, as a new experiment, I included one simple animation for each of them in the scene.
It is not as dynamic as the animation created with Live2D, but it is a simple repetitive animation of a part of the illustration.
Even small-scale animations can make a big difference in the impression, so please look forward to that as well.
For the next while, I will be working on putting the illustrations I have drawn into the game and creating the scenes.
I will write the text for each scene and incorporate it into the game so that it will work without problems.
Once I have finished creating the necessary scenes, I will ask the translators to start translating the text.
In the meantime, I will be creating additional content for the game.
The 1.1 update will be a massive one, adding over 150 CG images (including diffs) and expanding the CG and scene aspects of SxM 2.
I will keep you waiting for a while yet, but the rough plan is to have the update out by the end of the summer.

This is Poison Slime, a slime monster.
This slime monster is perfect for this season.
Slime monsters are usually mutated forms of normal slime that have taken in some kind of liquid.
As the name implies, Poison Slime is a mutated form that has taken in poison, and it is always slumbering around drinking poison juice.
SxM's poison status ailment is strong, and many players may have struggled with Poison Slime that appears in the early stages of the game.
Most poison status ailment in general RPGs are per-turn damage of about 10% of maximum HP,
but a strong poison like that in Etrian Odyssey series can be a unique character strategy in itself, so I created and implemented my own system around the time of the first game.
It is a powerful status ailment that can certainly cause damage even in 2.

This is Skeleton from Undead Monsters.
Downer, low-tension undead monsters may also be perfect for this season too.
Skeletons are originally undead monsters that move only with their bones, but in SxM, I designed the bones as armor.
He usually has emotionless eyes, but as the bone armor breaks down, you can also see a bit of emotion in him.
There is also Black Wizard in SxM 2 that works well with the undead, so it would be interesting to have a party with some undead monsters.

Work on the update has been steadily piling up and is nearing completion.
I have been working on many illustrations for over 5 months since the beginning of the year, and that is finally finished and ready to be implemented into the game.
There is still a lot of work that needs to be done, but I will continue to work on it so that I can make it a good update.
