[EN]SHOWTIMExMONSTERS 2 Dev Letter [vol.54]
🕑 Added 2024-04-20 09:10:20 +0000 UTCHello, I'm Satoh.
The long winter is over and it is cherry blossom season in Japan.
Temperatures are rising and the days are sunny and pleasant.
I am enjoying the spring weather and working solidly on updates.
――――――――――――――――――――――――――――――――――――――――
I have now managed to finish drawing the illustrations for the defeat scenes up to the boss of the 5th labyrinth.
Many of the bosses themselves have complex designs, and drawing the differences between all the partners is time-consuming and labor-intensive,
but I think I have managed to draw interesting scenes that are characteristic of each boss.
I plan to complete the process of drawing the defeat illustrations for the remaining two bosses.
In version 1.1, in addition to that, I would like to add a scene for each partner and their mentor.
Each of the partners in 2 has a master-disciple relationship with the main characters in the previous game,
and I plan to add one scene each to express this.
For the boss defeat scene and the partner scene, both of which can be viewed as you play through each partner's route,
I decided it would be better to add them at the same time because if I added them in small pieces you would have to replay them over and over again.
(I will also include a feature to unlock the gallery of additional scenes from already-cleared routes all at once,
as I think it would be hard to redo all of them, including already-cleared partner routes, for the additional scenes.)
It will still take some time to create those scenes, additional special battles, and some translation work,
but I will do my best to make it something that will give you a taste of the plentiful additions I have in store.
I am pleased to introduce you to defeated illustrations and to offer you a special illustration.
――――――――――――――――――――――――――――――――――――――――
These are illustrations of the defeat against the Ancient Pharaoh and Kohryu.
Please look forward to seeing how they will turn out afterwards, and how they will look like in the case of other partners.
――――――――――――――――――――――――――――――――――――――――
This time, with sincere gratitude for you, supporters,
I drew a "Cherry Blossom 2024"-themed special illustration for you.
From the oriental Monsters, this is Three Color Dumpling.
Three Color Dumpling, who plays festival music energetically, is perfect for the spring weather.
This is a composite race of oriental + candy, a monster that can be flexibly included in a race party.
Since dumplings are often associated with teahouses, I designed a costume like that of a teahouse keeper.
The loincloth is boldly displayed to express naivete.
――――――――――――――――――――――――――――――――――――――――
That's all for this letter.
I'll post vol.55 on around 2024/5/20.
The work on the defeat scene illustrations is coming to an end smoothly as planned.
I would like to continue the update work at this rate while taking a break from drawing seasonal illustrations.
I hope everyone enjoys the pleasant season in the height of spring.
