[EN]SHOWTIMExMONSTERS 2 Dev Letter [vol.50]
🕑 Added 2023-12-20 09:07:44 +0000 UTCHello, I'm Satoh.
Winter is in full swing, and in a few days it will be Christmas, and a week later the new year will begin.
This year has flown by and this letter is the 50th.
It seems like only yesterday that I was thinking that the year 2023 would arrive and this would be the year that I would complete the game and send it out into the world.
――――――――――――――――――――――――――――――――――――――――
The bug fix update up to 1.021 has fixed the major problems and the game seems to be stable now.
I, too, am now able to relax a bit, free from the tension of the pre- and post-release period.
This work took a long time to complete, and it seemed the most difficult from the time it was nearing completion to the time it was finished and ready for release.
In the months leading up to the release, I felt more pressure than I have ever felt in my creative career.
Although it was a little later than originally planned, I am very happy that I was able to deliver the finished product to everyone and that you were able to enjoy it.
There are still a couple of issues that have been reported, but they are not fatal and will be fixed in the next 1.03 update.
1.03 update will not add any major features, but will mainly fix bugs.
My current plan is to add a defeat scene for each boss in a major update 1.10, but this will require many illustrations and translation of texts,
the 1.10 update will likely require several months to six months of development.
I plan to spend more time updating this game than the former game, in part because it already includes the extra classes,
a special battle, and capricious mode that were added in the previous game through updates.
I am currently working on ideas for defeat scenes, special illustrations that I will unveil here,
and for the first time in a while, I am also working on seasonal illustrations for Christmas.
Of course, I also plan to draw illustrations for New Year's.
For the time being, I hope to enjoy drawing illustrations while relaxing the tension before and after the launch.
This time, with sincere gratitude for you, supporters,
I drew two "Holy night 2023 Special"-themed special illustrations for you.
――――――――――――――――――――――――――――――――――――――――
From the angel monsters, here is Virtue.
Angels are perfect for the Holy Night.
Many players may have taken him with them in high difficulty because he is a powerful healer with light barrier and revive skills.
Always with his eyes closed in prayer, this monster wears a mystical atmosphere.
――――――――――――――――――――――――――――――――――――――――
This is Lamp Flower, from the plant monsters.
Lamp Flower, who beautifully illuminates the darkness of the night, is also perfect for holy night.
He is a healer who uses a new system from 2 called shield healing.
He is actually the earliest monster I have drawn since I started development of 2, as it also serves as a test for the new system.
Shield healing can greatly enhance your party's survivability when used well. Please let him play an active role.
――――――――――――――――――――――――――――――――――――――――
That's all for this letter.
I'll post vol.51 on around 2024/1/20.
This year has gone by quickly, but it has been a year in which I was able to complete four years of development and release 2.
Next year, I would like to make it a year in which I can update 2 and continue to work on other things.
I will continue my creative activities in 2024 and beyond, so thank you for your continued support.
Thank you so much for your warm support this past year.
Please take care of yourself and stay warm during Christmas and the year-end and New Year holidays.
