[EN]SHOWTIMExMONSTERS 2 Dev Letter [vol.49]
🕑 Added 2023-11-20 09:10:45 +0000 UTCHello, I'm Satoh.
In Japan, it has been the hottest on record for this season, and the strong sunshine makes the days seem like summer.
Then suddenly the temperature drops in the last few days, and I feel that winter is approaching all at once.
Every day I strongly feel the abnormalities of the climate in recent years.
――――――――――――――――――――――――――――――――――――――――
On October 29th, I finally had the pleasure of bringing this game to the world.
Many people have enjoyed it, and I am very happy to see the feedback and other comments I get every day.
It is a game packed with many elements, and I hope you will take the time to enjoy it.
I myself have been working since the launch to fix bugs and glitches found in the initial version, and to implement features that have been requested.
I am also adjusting the parts of the labyrinth that were difficult to follow or bad for the eyes.
Since this is a game that is played in laps, I am trying to improve the clarity and playability as much as possible.
The first feature I received a request for was "I want to play in a wrecked state,
but the option of not recovering clothing would increase the difficulty because of the defense reduction of the wreck.”
Since the former game, it had become a kind of restriction to always play in the wrecked state,
but this time I decided to add a setting to the config so that only the normal and medium wrecks are displayed in the wrecked state.
This will allow the player to play in the wrecked state without changing the feel of the game.
Another request was "to prevent characters' clothes from becoming torn or wrecked when live-streaming or playing in public."
This is also related to appearance. I have decided to implement them at the same time, since they can be realized by the same mechanism as the aforementioned functions.
If you set the appearance of enemies and allies not to change when they are torn or wrecked, and if you set the event scene to skip, you can play the game as if it were a normal game.
Since this is only a visual change, the balance of the game and the feel of the game will not change.
As with the former game, I plan to take many years to perfect this game,
updating it to version 1.10 and version 1.20..., which will add major features, but first
I am working on stabilizing the initial version, adding small features, etc., to solidify the base.
I was thinking of taking a break for a while after the game was completed, but after releasing the game, I can see many things that need to be fixed or adjusted.
It seems that I have to work a little harder before I can take a break.
Since this is a special post-release edition, I have prepared two special illustrations to express my gratitude to everyone.
――――――――――――――――――――――――――――――――――――――――
From the demon monsters, this is Nebiros.
He is a powerful being and a great demon who is good at seances.
He also has a magical tool called the hand of glory.
The angels are dressed in a sci-fi, near-future style, while the demons are designed in a modern style.
While the angels have uniform-like designs in the same direction, the demons are individually free in their dress, which also represents the nature of each species.
It is like order and chaos, isn't it?
――――――――――――――――――――――――――――――――――――――――
This is Mushroom Tank, from the plant-based monsters.
Mushrooms are the taste of fall, so this monster is perfect for this season.
He is a new monster that was introduced in 2. It is a powerful tank-type monster that can be obtained in the early stages of the game,
and many players may have loved it until the latter half of the game.
As for the design, it is mainly king trumpet mushroom, but it is interspersed with various types of mushrooms.
Mushrooms are not strictly speaking plants, but in this game he is a species of plants.
――――――――――――――――――――――――――――――――――――――――
That's all for this letter.
I'll post vol.50 on around 2023/12/20.
Beyond the major milestone of the release, my creative activities have taken a new step forward.
It does not mean that I will immediately start working on something new,
but the fact that I was able to complete a major work that took four years to complete gives me great confidence.
Once again, I would like to thank everyone for your support.
And I would like to continue to update the game, as well as try my hand at a new art book for 2 and beyond,
so if you would like to support me, I would be very grateful for your support.
Autumn is over and cold winter is coming. Please take care of your health as the seasons change and the temperatures have been changing rapidly recently.
