[EN]SHOWTIMExMONSTERS 2 Dev Letter [vol.30]
🕑 Added 2022-04-20 08:35:08 +0000 UTCHello, I'm Satoh.
In Japan, spring is in full swing and the weather has become very warm.
The cherry blossoms, which were in full bloom, are now falling and we are heading into summer.
I am steadily continuing my work, hoping that the world will return to a peaceful daily life.
――――――――――――――――――――――――――――――――――――――――
I finished making the skill sets for the 5th stratum monsters and the potential skills for the buddy system.
As usual, I racked my brains to come up with ideas and did my best to make the monsters unique and interesting.
In SxM, the monsters do not have any dialogue, but instead I have created them in such a way
that you can feel their identities and characters when you fight with them as a companion or when you confront them as an enemy.
Therefore, I have made it possible to express the individuality of each monster through its skill set,
so that players can actually experience the feeling of having a powerful dragon as a companion and using it,
or being bothered by a selfish werewolf that does not listen to you.
I'm going to make status settings and boss battles as enemy monsters.
Since there has been a bit of a gap since the last test play, I think I will do another test play up to the 4th stratum to get a feel for the numbers in my head before I start working on this one.
After making enemy monsters, placing symbol monsters, and creating events in the labyrinth,
I can then write the text for the event scenes, and the fifth stratum is complete.
In this letter, I would like to introduce two new monsters.
――――――――――――――――――――――――――――――――――――――――
This is one of the new monsters, Yasha.
Dressed in tight suits and a kimono, he is a cool-looking oriental monster.
Here is another one of the new monsters, Hakutaku.
Hakutaku is a very auspicious sacred beast, and its charms are said to ward off evil.
In SxM, he is a healer monster that excels in barrier-based skills.
――――――――――――――――――――――――――――――――――――――――
This time, with sincere gratitude for you, supporters,
I drew a "First storm of spring"-themed special illustration for you.
From the fairy monsters, this is Forest Fairy.
It is a refreshing monster, perfect for warm, soft spring breezes.
Forest Fairy is the standard healer monster that is the first to join you.
In SxM, if you proceed without a healer in your party, you will have a hard time, so Forest Fairy is always the first to follow you.
I designed it to resemble a small fairy in the forest, with a crown of grass and flowers, a tie, and wings that look like holly leaves scattered about.
I am very attached to him as I designed him in the early days of SxM development.

That's all for this letter.
I'll post vol.31 on around 2022/5/20.
This is the 30th Letter.
As I had expected, it takes a very long time to develop a full-length RPG.
I would like to thank all of you who have always supported me.
I am steadily moving toward completion, so I will continue to work at this pace and do my best to complete this.
I hope you all take good care of yourselves.
