[EN]SHOWTIMExMONSTERS 2 Dev Letter [vol.23]
🕑 Added 2021-09-20 09:02:05 +0000 UTCHello, I'm Satoh.
Thank you very much for your support.
The heat is easing up and the nights are getting chilly.
This summer has been full of rainy days and we are still in the midst of the Corona disaster, so it feels like it has gone by in a blink of an eye.
In spite of all this, the development work is continuing steadily, and I am happy to see that it is moving toward completion.
――――――――――――――――――――――――――――――――――――――――
After finishing the monster design for the fourth stratum and the illustrations for the event scenes, I've been concentrating on map making lately.
Since dungeon exploration is one of the main elements of the game, it's one of the things I've been working hard on.
SxM's dungeons are made in the image of a 3D dungeon RPG like Wizardry or Etrian Odyssey, dropped into 2D.
So the game experience is based on exploring little by little, opening shortcuts, and then moving on from there.
The good thing about 2D dungeons is that I can depict the location with more detail than in 3D dungeons.
This time, as with the previous game, I'm racking my brains to make sure that you can enjoy exploring dungeons with various themes.
I'm sure you will enjoy the more elaborate maps that I have created since I have gradually improved my map making technique.
Now that I've finished writing the event scene as well, all I need to do is think about the skills of the monsters,
set them up as allies, set them up as enemy monsters, and create the events in the dungeon, and the fourth stratum will be complete.
Thinking about the skill sets is another task, but I will enjoy the days of racking my brain again.
In this letter, I would like to introduce two new monsters.
――――――――――――――――――――――――――――――――――――――――
This is one of the new monsters, Skeleton.
He is an undead warrior with a bone motif.
I tried to draw him as pale, badass, and downer. Since he is bone, he is very exposed.
This is another one of the new monsters, Golden Slime.
It's a flashy, shiny, golden slime that was transformed by taking in treasure.
He loves to show off and is always showing off his treasures.
――――――――――――――――――――――――――――――――――――――――
This time, with sincere gratitude for you, supporters,
I drew a "Beginning of Fall"-themed special illustration for you.
This is Ninja Master from the Japanese Monsters.
I tried to create a ninja-like dynamic composition.
He is the symbol monster that pops out from behind a hanging scroll in the ninja house.
He is designed to look like a futuristic ninja with a touch of science fiction.
In terms of skills, I took the monster in a different direction rather than being an upgrade from the regular Ninja.
Only the long scarf is common to both ninjas.
――――――――――――――――――――――――――――――――――――――――
That's all for this letter.
I'll post vol.24 on around 2021/10/20.
I'm getting closer and closer to completing the fourth layer. At this rate, I would like to steadily move on to the fifth layer, and then to the completion of the game.
Summer is over and the change of seasons is upon us again.
In a chaotic situation, time seems to fly by especially fast, doesn't it?
I hope you are all doing well and staying well so as not to get sick.

Thank you! I'm also glad that I've been able to continue working on it steadily:)
Classic RPG monsters like skeletons and slimes are my favorite. They look cool.
