[EN]SHOWTIMExMONSTERS 2 Dev Letter [vol.22]
🕑 Added 2021-08-20 09:10:57 +0000 UTCHello, I'm Satoh.
Thank you very much for your support.
It is a very hot season in Japan, with temperatures exceeding 35 degrees Celsius every day.
Masks are a must nowadays, which makes us feel even hotter.
I'm trying not to get tired from the summer heat, but I'm patiently working on the game.
――――――――――――――――――――――――――――――――――――――――
Recently, I managed to finish the monster design for the fourth stratum, and I've been working on the illustrations for the event scenes.
I'm personally satisfied that I was able to make the monsters in the fourth stratum very unique too.
When I design characters based on various themes,
I have a lot of opportunities to see things I didn't know before through looking at a lot of reference materials and researching culture and mythology, and that's one of the things I enjoy.
It's fascinating to gain a new awareness of something you knew offhand through deep study.
As for the event scenes, in 2, I'm making a little more difference in each scene than in the previous game.
As in the previous game, I plan to make it light at the beginning, but as the layers progress, you will be able to enjoy more intense scenes.
This time, I'd like to add a little zooming effect that wasn't in the previous game,
so that players can enjoy the cuteness of the characters even more.
In this letter, I would like to introduce two new monsters.
――――――――――――――――――――――――――――――――――――――――
This is one of the new monsters, Sand Smoker.
This monster is based on a water cigarette called Shisha.
I drew it as a monster that fights using a magical demon that is formed by smoldering magic smoke.
It is also one of the brown elves that I introduced last time.
This is another one of the new monsters, Cact Puncher.
As you can see, it's a plant-based monster with a cactus motif.
I tried to give it a spiky and round appearance unique to cacti, while also giving it an animal-like atmosphere.
It is good at fighting with its large arms.
――――――――――――――――――――――――――――――――――――――――
This time, with sincere gratitude for you, supporters,
I drew a "Scorching Hot Summer"-themed special illustration for you.
This is Incubus from the devil monsters.
It's a monster that seems to make your burning body burn even hotter.
In the game, I used to draw him with a demonic expression, so this time I tried to make him look like a cute little devil.
The incubus is a male version of the succubus, a lecherous demon that squeezes the essence out of humans through sexual intercourse.
With a setting like that, the devil looks like he'd have a big snake.
However, the SxM incubus prefers to use the back rather than the front, so the front is a cute size.
――――――――――――――――――――――――――――――――――――――――
That's all for this letter.
I'll post vol.23 on around 2021/9/20.
I've finished the designs for the monsters on the fourth stratum, and as far as the monster designs are concerned, I'm down to the fifth stratum and some extras.
Little by little, I'm starting to see the completion of the game, and I'm feeling very emotional about it.
However, I still have a lot of work to do on the fourth stratum, such as creating event scenes, maps, and monster skills, so I'll keep my eyes open and keep working on it.
As the heat wave continues, I hope you all take care of yourselves and stay healthy.

Hello, thank you for supporting. I'm planning to add some mini-games in the town in the sequel. Maybe I'll introduce you them in the later letters :) And sure, all the monsters in the first game will be in the sequel too.
Hello Satoh-san! I would like to ask you, are you planning on introducing some fun activities that we can do in the town? you know, just for when we feel like taking a break from adventuring in the stratums and chill out doing something fun and interesting. Also, will old monsters also be present in the new game? I'm really attached to my Forest Bear (as I hope my avatar clearly shows)
