[EN]SHOWTIMExMONSTERS 2 Dev Letter [vol.8]
🕑 Added 2020-06-20 09:08:49 +0000 UTCHello, I'm Satoh.
Thank you very much for your continued support.
It's getting much hotter these days, and it's rainy season in Japan.
With all the commotion this year including the virus, I feel that time is flying by even faster than usual.
I would like to continue to work steadily to avoid being swept away by that speed.
――――――――――――――――――――――――――――――――――――――――
Recently, I've been working on drawing the 2nd stratum's monsters alongside with the game part of the 1st stratum.
Players and monsters are at low levels with few skills in the 1st stratum.
It's the most simple part in the game.
However, as the elements of 2nd, 3rd.. stratums pile up on top of that,
I think that the game balance of the beginning is a pretty important part that will affect the balance in the future.
In addition to that, I'm trying to make it easy for the first time players to understand the flow of the game.
I want to make the game so that players can learn how to play and fight naturally while having fun.
As it's going to take quite a while to design the 2nd stratum's monsters too,
I'd like to focus on making sure that the 1st stratum is in a good state.
I'll introduce two new monsters who are good for rainy season in this letter.
――――――――――――――――――――――――――――――――――――――――
This is one of the new monsters, "Rain Frog"
As his name suggests, his motif is frog, and he is wearing an umbrella and raincoat.
"Water" element will be added in SxM2.
This is "Rainy Fighter"
I remember that I used to play with an umbrella as a sword in my childhood, so I designed him like a swordsman who uses an umbrella as a sword.
His fresh color like hydrangea is also distinctive.
――――――――――――――――――――――――――――――――――――――――
This time, with sincere gratitude for you, supporters,
I drew an early Summer-themed special illustration for you.
"Monster Plant" from plant monsters.
From a quick glance, he looks like a monster with big plants on his back.
Though, when his clothes are broken, you can see he actually has tentacles entangled all over his body.
By the cloth breaking system, you can enjoy two impressions of him.
The motif of the plants are "Venus flytrap", one of the insectivorous plants.
It's an interesting plant which automatically closes it's mouth when a bug crawls into it.
Saying about insectivorous plants, Nepenthes are also famous. It's the motif of "Utubozu".
――――――――――――――――――――――――――――――――――――――――
That's all for this letter.
I'll post vol.9 on around 2020/7/20.
Though the world is still in a precarious situation with the new virus not yet subsiding,
I hope the future will be one in which we can live in peace of mind.
I would like to continue to work on the game patiently so that people with the same tastes can enjoy my work.

Sadly I can't upload uncensored one from Japan because of the Japanese law ;( The heart system will be in the sequel too. And, I think the idea of focus band is interesting. Thank you for your suggestion.
As great as it is to hear progress is coming- please make sure you're taking care of yourself Satoh! I love everything that's been released and only makes me more excited for the eventual release. Thank you for your hard work!

"is it about uncensored ones" yes. About the difficulty , well yea it must be incredibly difficult to balance different levels and ultimate is supposed to be just as hard, the hearts system helps a lot with that as you can balance your own team, i hope you never remove that option ;). But there still are some skills that can be pretty good at any stats, high/extreme damage skills, multiple hit skills and special survival skills like the 4 hits life of genie boy or the time stop before you nerfed it. And i would recommend an item like "focus band" in pokemon wich let's you survive one killing blow with 1 hp.

Thank you! As Maniac and Ultimate are special difficulty, it's not easy to make all the monsters useful for it. Though, I'm trying to make all the monsters unique and useful. About the images, is it about uncensored ones?

That rain frog is incredibly cute , i hope everyone can get at least 1 useful skill for ultra high dificulty, i just finished ultimate again in sxm 1 and there are no more than 2 or 3 monster that can actually do something without hearts. Btw i see some nude version of some images posted here , is there any place were you actually shared every original resource? your draws are amazing!.

It seems like every time you draw a new monster to show us, he keeps getting cuter and cuter. Can't wait to see all the other cuties you design for the sequel. Thanks for your hard work.
