finally, this piece I've been "working on" since 2022 (sketched a year ago, let languish, and then finished over the last few weeks) is done! Ianthe Tridentarius is my favorite character in Tamsyn Muir's "The Locked Tomb" series, and I've finally put my money where my mouth is and finished an actual painting of her.
There's a lot more green in this piece than I usually go for, but it felt right for her; she's meant to have a very unsettling presence. Characters are always commenting on how washed-out and pale and dead she looks, so I went all out. I thought of drawing her propaganda poster as a closer likeness, but decided it was funnier if her appearance was obviously retouched to look more healthy and saintly.

makes total sense, the Empire doesn't have an unlimited lithograph budget!

Thank you! I did get the timeline mixed up, because she started using the “Saint of Awe” epithet after she’d had her skeleton arm regrown, but I also like the idea of this being a very early propaganda picture of her that’s still being reproduced.
