[365 Days of Monsters] Day 005/366 - Dream Kid
🕑 Added 2021-01-08 16:00:04 +0000 UTCDream kids are powerful human children who possess extraordinary psychic abilities. There are rumored to be less than a dozen in all of the Cosmos. The vile illusionist, Uncle Skeleton, possesses eight of them; it's unknown where the others are. Skeleton's convinced the children that their world is nothing more than an elaborate illusion from which they must escape (but secretly never can). This deception grants Uncle Skeleton control over their powers and allows him to construct exquisite realms within a pocket of The Dream he calls The Never Moor. Each child is guarded by one of the Uncle Skeleton's eight polyciplicates.
The Sphinxes of Zar first discovered the children as they sailed through the Dream on their Mind Barge. Tracing the children's dream tethers back to The Real, the sphinxes escorted the children to the Tumbling Pyramid where they planned to keep them safe. Of course, Uncle Skeleton learned of the Zar's prize. Skeleton joined forces with The Eye of Gahm, raided the pyramid, trapped the sphinxes in Gahm's Song of Melancholy, then stole the dream kids.
One of the eight dream kids, an eight-year-old girl named Lilya, briefly became aware of her existence. In this narrow window of self-awareness, Lilya broadcasted a message across The Dream which eventually reached the Treasure Cat Bungo. Unsure what it was experiencing, Bungo accelerated its life-cycle to help it better understand the message. After its sixth life loop, Bungo uncovered the existence of the dream kids, but was yet unsure where in the Cosmos they were being kept. Now, Bungo seeks a group of Timeless Ones to locate the dream kids.
