Patreon to start chaging sales taxes in July (select locations).

Starting July 1st, Patreon's going to be adding sales tax to some of the benefits on here. This will only affect a handful of states and countries.
For most folks, this change will be marginal—at most a few cents on the dollar. Some of you might not be affected all.
Anyways, I just wanted to make everyone knew what's up so there was no surprise. Governments be wanting that easy money, etc.

Yea, they have been doing that over here since the beginning. However, it was a lot more than a few cents on the Dollar, or more aptly Euro for me. It turned out to be very nearly 1/4 the price of the pledge, a €10 pledge actually cost something like €12.50.

Ah, I see my location isn't included (yet) so maybe that's why I haven't seen any announcements.

They've been making announcements. And really it's more about pressure from the states/countries than them wanting to do it. Companies like Amazon, etc. have been fighting against this kinda thing for literally decades. It's more about the greedy freakin' politicians wanting more loot for their coffers. :\

Thanks for the heads up! Wow. Can't believe Patreon is just going to surprise charge people and mention it after the fact. Given that they automatically take the money out first of the month.
