I've had a couple people ask about certain pieces of content I've been working on in the past and why it may not have additional parts or appears abandoned. Popular examples include: Uncle Skeleton's Nightmare Tunnels, Hand of the Eight Part 9, Neverending Dungeon, etc.
There are three major reasons many of these projects got put on hold.
1. The Compendium. We started getting the Compendium together right after the Kickstarter in March but recognized we had two big issues. First, we couldn't use the art form the old books due to an IP issue with the original artist. This lead to the second issue where I had to totally rewrite or gut pieces of content. With a 300 page book due, I had to fill it with adventures that didn't have any sort of continuity. Hence, the existence of Quabus and Qortar in the first place and why other content got temporarily put on hold. Hand of the Eight Part 9 wouldn't make sense in the Compendium, nor would just 1-3 parts of Nightmare Tunnels or even Neverending Dungeon.
2. Coronavirus. Yeah, yeah... I know it's lame to blame the virus, but in this case, it's the culprit for some of the stylistic changes I've had. Myself, along with many others, had to switch to VTT formats. As I play more and more VTT games I recognize what sort of content works great on there and what content kinda feels weird. Location-based adventures dominate on the platform, but event based (the type I usually write) aren't as great. So I had to pivot a bit to support the community.
3. Commissions. I've had two HUGE commissions I've been working on for the last three months. I was hoping I could take them on and continue doing what I do, but they've been drawing a lot of my attention. Even now I'm working on stuff.
TL;DR: It's all coming back soon.
Now that the Kickstarter is wrapping up (12 hours left) and I'm finishing up a couple commissions I have in the background, I've got more time to create content again.
- I've been catching up with monsters. This week, I've put out 10 for ya's.
- Hand of the Eight Part 9 is about 75% written. I was in the process of writing it when I started up Quabus and Qortar.
- Neverending Dungeon actually will do swimmingly on VTT and I have some ideas to make it extra cool. I kinda wanna go back to the old style mixed with the new, so look out for that.
- And yes, I totally gotta to finish up Uncle Skeleton. It's a lot of fun. But it's a yuuuuge project. I'll probably just plug it into my VTT and clean it up some.

Hi Dave, sorry I may have missed it but I haven’t seen anything on Hot8 ch. 9 for a while, I’ve been running this campaign as my first foray into being a DM, and it’s going well, everybody is very much enjoying it! But just wondered if there was an update? Thanks.
