[Neverending Mad Mage Recap] 3.6 - The Calendar Stone
🕑 Added 2020-07-14 20:11:45 +0000 UTCHere is a quick recap of what happened in the last episode of DMDave's Neverending Mad Mage, titled "Wyllow's Tower."
The party: Kilus, Granny, D.D., Knose Piccer, and Softy
- After they discovered that the werebats reentered Wyllowwood and took control of the stone tower and its Calendar Stone, the party left to confront whatever awaited them there.
- First, the party faced off against two zombified ettins, their first clue that the werebats weren't alone.
- Inside, they discovered that their companions Darien, Jock, and Kal'el had been zombified, too, despite being gentle reposed. Now it was personal.
- Joining the zombified ex-guild members were a quartet of werebats armed with silver-tipped arrows. Granny killed all but one with a well-placed fireball.
- The party climbed the levels fighting more zombified creatures and werebats.
- Finally, the party found Stuk, their bugbear ally who was afflicted with ceremorphosis. But before they could rescue Stuk, Mobar, a one-eyed werebat, fled with Stuk through one of Halaster's gates.
- Finally, the party entered the room in which Wyllow kept The Calendar Stone, an artifact that controlled the seasons and weather of Wyllowwood.
- Kalabash, the same drunk wizard that the guild confronted in the Arcane Chambers, was behind the necromancy and tower seizure. Before he could be stopped, Kalabash dimension doored away.
- After sharing with Aaron what they knew about the encounter, Aaron determined that Mobar fled through the gate to the Sargauth level, the same level they were pushed out of nearly a month ago.
Current Adventure Hooks
Here are the current adventure hooks, in no particular order:
- Defeat/thwart the aboleth Iluun and its minions.
- Rescue Zarrut, Aaron's disciple, from Iluun.
- Track down Mobar and Stuk on the Sargauth level.
- Retrieve the remains of Dazen Sunstrong (and any other fallen heroes) from Xanathar's Guild.
- Find a cure for the bugbear, Stuk, who is currently undergoing ceremorphosis.
- Find the Dwarf King's tomb in the Lost Level.
- Defeat Shuun Sherreth, the ex-Xanathar drow who has plagued them since the beginning.
