When it comes to the superhero thing, I'm honestly still considering the finer details. I'd like to use some of the disparate parts Ive sprinkled in throughput the story to facilitate the narratove. But I'll see.

When I went back and watched the movies to see what I wanted to change. Just being able to see became the biggest chore. I swear I they were near unwatchable. So I abso had to fix that haha. Im also so tempted to shift the epilogue scene to a fan reaction watching it in cinemas but I'm certain you'll all hang me for that. I'll figure something fun out for the DH2 premiere for sure - likely from a differing perspective.

Haha I mostly wanted to get across that rationality won't always shine through in emotional situations. And the Emma character is (as I've deliberately constructed) fairly emotional. Relayed in response to your comment has phenomenal insight that I'm going to be stealing lol.

I like to do my best to make sure characters stay consistent so its gratifying to know its coming through. thanks. In terms of Emma's relationship with Bas I also didn't want to go overly flippant, generic, or I guess unrealistically serious either. They're still young and immature (Bas willfully lol) so I wanted to show that sort of relationship rather than what I guess comes as predictable or cliche. And for sure! I wanted to intimate all the fun details about the changes to the movies, but I also didn't want to spend five chapters slowly inching through meticulous boring descriptions either. So very very glad its being picked up in as well!

Little later than I wanted but I got to give my own little homage to her

Almost there! Just a few key scenes for Harry and Bas both

Mufas mufas mufasa!

My boy, Bas, should be Spider-Man. He was just born for that role. He doesn't even have to act, they have the same personality. Harry Potter is about to end and The amazing spiderman is about to start, it's the perfect change. Surely his popularity in Japan will help him negotiate with Sonny.

That might be better, especially for DH2. Seems releases will have more time apart this time so hopefully more chapters in-between any promotions for either.

I think I’d prefer to see it from the point of a view of a critic, rather than a fan.

David Karlsson

Imagine if all the movies utilised special effects this much. I think this version could do better with both critics and those looking for spectacle. Now I just want to see how the final showdown with Harry vs voldemort goes and the changes to the epilogue. then MC can move on to new things for a while. I hope we finally get an independent POV from a fan in theater or the Premiere and maybe another PHO for (limitless?) Speculation

Rivo

Really like the shift in colour between parts 1 and 2. I think it'll even make part 1 looked upon more favourably.

I don’t think she’s thinking about Anita or others at all, she’s just excited about being with the guy she’s been pining after since she was very young. She is simply a teenager that has not experienced life yet. She is an incomplete version of herself. Despite how he acts, Bas has a maturity that comes from experiencing life that includes interacting with different types of people with different backgrounds and age. Watson has had a sheltered life at an exclusive school and a film set where she primarily interacted with co-stars her own age. It would be unreasonable to expect her to behave any other way since this is clearly her first serious relationship. As for her appreciation of his efforts, it’s a bit like how you don’t truly appreciate your parents until you yourself become a parent. I think Bas is aware of this and said it best when he stated that his goal was to be the “perfect boyfriend that would set the impossible bar for any future suitors.” It’s a unique way of him establishing the standards she should hold for future relationships. It’s a type of relationship that can only exist in this type of a story and I’m glad the author’s exploring this aspect of the relationship rather than treating it like any other bog standard romantic relationship.

David Karlsson

You described well why I don't like their relationship, at least at the moment. MC has to cover for her behavior and the risks involved in her choice, not sure if Emma appreciates just how much. It's a very unequal relationship at this point but a realistic issue from the flaws of this Emma. Most fanfics have the point of flaw in a break up be much more explosive and sudden so this is interesting. Is she just confident that Anita and the others can sweep issues under the rug if MC or her mess up?

I like that Emma’s inability to keep a secret tracks from the Felton POV chapter from earlier in the story. It also follows the idea introduced in the previous chapter that Emma chose a complicated form of relationship and Bas has to be proactive in order to deal with the complications that she is too inexperienced to see coming. Something she’ll only appreciate later in her life. I’m glad you have chapters like these to describe and give life to changes in this version of the films rather than dedicate a chapter exclusively for the sake of an info dump where the changes are described to the reader in a very dry manner. It’s clearly more work on you part to construct a short story around these nuggets of information and I appreciate the work put into it. The changes by Cuarón to add weight and color to effects of the film by using preexisting props and minimizing costs by the use of practical effects also elevates the final film from other effects driven blockbusters. It also adds an evergreen quality to the final films.
