It does for me as well. I watched this movie last night in preparation for the video today and I totally noticed the fire turning into ice thing and it bothered me too, haha.

I actually would not be so hard on Matt for minding the details. It shows attention to them. When those things are done wrong, like a bad special effect, it can "take you out" of the story.
