Cursed object: Pink dress

Mason was helping his grandmother clean out her attic, all while listening to her tell him tales of the good old days. Normally this stuff wouldn’t be touched, but his grandmother decided to move to a warmer state.
So everything needed to be gone through and thrown away, sold, or distributed to random family members, and since Mason was her only grandchild and didn’t have a job, he was the only one available to help her, which he didn’t mind.
Every box he brought down reminded his grandmother of a different story from when she was younger. Her stories were kind of interesting. Mason got to hear about his great-grandmother and grandfather, and even his grandfather who passed away when he was little.
It wasn’t until he pulled out a box labeled Madison that the mood changed in the room. His grandmother just stared at the box. Up until now, she didn’t hesitate to tell him a story about the contents of the boxes or items he brought down.
So there was something different about this box. Mason asked his grandmother about the box and Madison. Grandma snapped out of her trance and slowly started talking about Madison. It turned out it was her twin sister, and she died when they were about sixteen.
She opened the box and started going through the items slowly. She told Mason that they used to do everything together, and of the two of them, she was the girly one. That’s when she pulled out a long pink dress.
She held it in front of Mason and told him about how she insisted on wearing only the pinkest of dresses; she was never caught in anything else, unlike his grandmother, who always wore pants and tank tops.
Mason was surprised to hear his grandmother was a tomboy growing up, a big difference from her now daily flower shirts and matching skirts. As she held it in front of Mason, she mentioned that he looked almost identical to her.
Mason smiled, thinking she was just joking, but she then placed the dress next to him and pulled out some old photos, and true enough, in the photo next to his grandmother was a girl who looked just like him.
Honestly though, it looked more like it was him and he was just wearing the dress. He took the photo and stared at it. His grandmother said she needed a moment and left the room. Mason figured the emotions of her sister passing were starting to be too much, and she needed a break.
Mason still couldn’t believe how much he looked like his great-aunt. He looked at the dress and picked it up. It was a little embarrassing, but maybe he could make his grandmother smile by wearing the dress for a few minutes.
With them being the only two here, it wouldn’t be all that embarrassing. So he removed his shirt and slid his pants off, getting into just his underwear. Then he took the dress and slipped it over his head into place.
Surprisingly, it also fit him perfectly. As he was looking at the bottom of the dress, his grandmother came back into the room and gasped. She held her hands to her face and seemed like she was about to cry.
Instead, she ran to Mason and hugged him, saying he was so adorable and pretty and that he looked just like her twin sister. His grandmother started pulling out more of her twin sister's old things and giving them to Mason, saying her sister would want him to have them.
Things started to feel strange; his grandmother was oddly way too into him wearing this dress. She was almost acting like he was a girl; she even started calling him Madison instead of Mason. He wanted to say something or take off the dress and end this, but his grandmother was so happy.
So he continued to wear it and help her finish emptying her attic. The hours left in the day went by quickly, and before he knew it, Mason’s parents had arrived to pick him up so they could go home. When Mason noticed them, he turned bright red and started to panic.
He tried to explain to his parents why he was wearing the dress, but for some reason, just like his grandmother, they seemed excited about it. Mason’s mother pulled out her phone and said she couldn’t believe her daughter was finally wearing a dress.
Mason was entirely confused; had his mother just called him her daughter? This all had to be some joke at his expense, right? He was a fool and embarrassed himself by putting it on, so they were all going to have fun with it.
Mason's grandmother told his dad about the box of stuff Mason was supposedly taking home, and he grabbed it and loaded it up. Mason was shocked; it was a box of girl's clothes, and it didn’t even faze his father that his son was taking them.
Mason was starting to think this wasn’t a joke. He tried to remove the dress, but for some reason, it was stuck. The damned thing wouldn’t even budge. As he sat there fiddling with it, his parents had finished loading up his new stuff and were pestering him to hurry up and get in the car.
The car ride home was awkward and embarrassing, and his parents were still treating him like a girl. When they got home, Mason got out of the car to carry the stuff his grandmother had given him since he was forced to take it, but his dad stopped him.
He said it was heavy, and he didn’t want his little girl to hurt her back. Mason's face turned bright red with embarrassment and a bit of frustration. He was helpless to change the situation, so he just followed his father to his room.
There he almost passed out at the sight of his room. The entire thing had changed. Instead of his dark blue walls covered in anime posters, he had bright pink walls with cute characters and boy bands.
Then there were the plushies; they were everywhere, and they were all so colorful and girly. Mason’s dad placed the box on his floor and then kissed him on the forehead before heading back to the living room.
It was so surreal; he was trapped in this dress, and now, for some reason, everyone thinks it's normal, even though reality itself is changing to match it. Mason couldn’t remove the dress, but he could lift it; when he did, he was glad to see he still had his dick.
What he wasn’t happy to see was his underwear; instead of his boxers, he was wearing a pink pair of panties. Luckily those were able to come off, so he removed them, giving what he now realized were his numb balls some relief.
He walked over to the dresses and hoped that his normal clothes were there, but much like his room, all his clothes had changed to match what people now saw when they looked at him. He closed his door and lay on his bed.
This day had been too much, and he was going to sleep it off and hope that it was all a dream, and when he woke up none of this would be here. As he slept, some of his memories appeared as dreams, but they were all different; in each of them, he was acting like a girl instead of a boy.
He woke up the next morning in a bit of a panic and was annoyed to see he was still wearing the dress and that his room was pink. He checked his crotch again to make sure he still had his dick and decided to hit the internet to see if there was some sort of explanation.
The closest thing he could find was several articles from the cursed object department. Apparently, some items can transform people, and it is really hard for a normal person to know if something is cursed before they get cursed.
The thing about it, though, was all the information says that the objects curse people by transforming them; nowhere does it say anything about altering reality or even warping how people see a person, so was this dress cursed or not?
It certainly felt like it. With no other leads, Mason’s next goal was to go to the department and speak to someone. Hopefully, they’d be able to help him. Perhaps he might even get some sort of award for finding a new type of cursed object, and hopefully, that reward will be getting this dress off.

Hmmm, it looks like we may be observing a completely new type of cursed objects that distort the very fabric of reality... And I’m even scared to imagine what will happen if someone figures out how to use this power not just for the sake of entertainment! This could put the whole world on the brink of destruction literally!!!
